Are you worried about your child or family? Maybe you’ve been carrying stress, anxiety, grief, conflict for so long that you barely recognize yourself anymore. You may have spent years trying to stay strong for everyone else while quietly struggling on your own. If so, you are not alone. I offer a warm and supportive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you’re going through without fear of judgment. With nearly 70 years of experience, I understand how deeply emotional pain, relationship struggles, family stress, loss, and life transitions can affect people. I have extensive experience working with young people facing challenges such as self-harming behaviors, trauma, addictions, and family conflict. I have worked successfully with adults navigating substance use concerns, chronic pain and other health difficulties, caregiver burnout, grief, various forms of loss, and major life transitions. I also support individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and long-standing patterns that keep them disconnected from themselves and others. In addition, I work with couples facing communication difficulties, separation, infidelity, divorce and other challenges, as well as families dealing with parenting stress, illness, addictions, cultural adaptation, and significant life changes. I am able to support families with young children who are experiencing developmental difficulties, health challenges, or acting-out behaviors and I provide pre-marital counseling for couples who are about to tie the knot. Throughout our work together, I strive to help clients build greater self-awareness, strengthen relationships, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward a greater sense of balance, connection, and emotional well-being. Clients describe me as warm, accepting, validating, and easy to talk to. My goal is to create a safe and caring space where you feel supported, understood, and less alone as we work together toward healing, and meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Before we meet, you’ll receive a few intake forms and brief questionnaires to complete. These help me get to know what brings you to therapy and allow us to make the most of our first session together. The session is a chance for us to connect and for me to learn more about you — not just the challenges you’re facing, but who you are as a person. We may talk about recent stressors, relationships, important experiences, or what led you to seek therapy now. You’re always in control of what you choose to share, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll also answer any questions you have, share a bit about my approach, and talk about what support might look like moving forward. Because sessions are virtual, it can help to find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking openly. And if technical issues come up, we’ll handle them together. Most of all, I hope our first conversation feels warm, supportive, and human — a place where you don’t have to carry everything alone. Clients can expect that they will be valued, appreciated, and supported in telling their problem stories. I will help them develop a game plan of action to address their concerns.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to meet you with warmth, compassion, and genuine understanding — especially during times when life feels overwhelming, painful, or emotionally exhausting. You do not have to come into therapy with everything figured out. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, supported, and accepted without judgment. With many years of experience working with individuals, couples and families, I understand how stress, grief, relationship struggles, trauma, illness, caregiving, and major life changes can affect emotional well-being. I also know that when people feel truly understood and supported, healing and change become possible. Clients often describe me as calm, caring, easy to talk to, and deeply validating. I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to help you better understand yourself, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and move toward greater balance, hope, and emotional well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with people who have been carrying too much for too long. On the outside, you may look like you’re managing, but inside you feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of how to keep doing it all alone. Many of the clients I connect with are struggling with stress, grief, relationship or family challenges, caregiving responsibilities, life transitions, or the quiet feeling that something in life needs to change. Often, they are people who have spent years taking care of others while putting their own needs aside. My ideal clients are not people who have everything figured out. They are people who are willing to gently look inward, reflect on what has and has not been working in their lives, and remain open to new perspectives and possibilities for change. Even when things feel painful or uncertain, they have a desire to grow, heal, and better understand themselves. Therapy can be a space where you finally get to slow down, breathe, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying. If you are looking for a warm, supportive, and compassionate place to heal and grow, I would be honored to walk alongside you through that process.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I use an eclectic approach to therapy, which means I tailor therapy to fit your unique needs rather than using the same approach for everyone. Each person comes to therapy with different experiences, struggles, strengths, and goals, so I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods depending on what may be most helpful for you. Some sessions may focus on understanding emotions and patterns, while others may help you build coping skills, improve relationships, manage stress, or develop new perspectives. My goal is to create a therapy experience that feels supportive, collaborative, flexible, and personalized to you.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy is based on the idea that people are more than the problems they are struggling with. Sometimes painful experiences, trauma, anxiety, grief, or difficult relationships can begin to shape the way you see yourself and your life story. This approach helps you step back from those problems, better understand the stories you have been carrying, and recognize strengths, values, and abilities that may have been overlooked. Together, we explore new perspectives, challenge unhelpful patterns or beliefs, and help you create a more hopeful, empowered, and meaningful story about yourself and your life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is a practical, goal-oriented approach that focuses more on your strengths, abilities, and possibilities for change rather than only on problems or the past. Together, we explore what is already working in your life, identify small but meaningful steps forward, and build on the skills and resilience you already have. This approach can help you feel more hopeful, confident, and empowered while working toward realistic and achievable changes in your daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Family Therapy

Family Systems Therapy looks at how relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences can shape the way we think, feel, and respond to stress. Instead of seeing problems as belonging to just one person, this approach explores how patterns within relationships and family systems may be affecting emotional well-being, communication, and behavior. Together, we work to better understand these patterns, strengthen relationships, improve communication, reduce conflict, and create healthier ways of connecting with others while also supporting your individual growth and healing.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a gentle, guided approach that uses deep relaxation and focused attention to help you access thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be difficult to reach in everyday conversation alone. Contrary to common myths, you remain aware, in control, and able to stop at any time during the process. When appropriate, hypnotherapy can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve relaxation, strengthen coping skills, increase self-awareness, and support positive emotional and behavioral change. I use it as one possible therapeutic tool within a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapy process tailored to your comfort level and goals.
