I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and PhD Candidate at Walden University. I have clinical expertise in treating anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, trauma, bi-polar disorder, and chronic medical conditions exacerbated by mental health. I provide an interactive therapeutic style for individuals, couples, and families. To do this, I integrate various methods and techniques to offer a personalized client centered approach. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, spirituality, motivational interviewing, and solution focused strategies inclusive of compassion and understanding. It is my belief that all people are born precious and free. Along the way, life presents challenges that could contribute to an individual feeling unfulfilled, unseen, unheard, and misunderstood. Together, you and I will discover the root cause of the pain and implement a plan for healing. I am here to help you examine and explore issues that make you feel stuck. I understand that each person is the driver of their own life and has within them the strength to overcome obstacles. I encourage introspection and observation of behavior, rather than judgement and negative self- talk. I believe therapy can be life changing, allow me the chance to help you.

Painful experiences often lead us to build defenses to protect ourselves from overwhelming emotions. These defenses can take many forms perfectionism, escapism, anger toward loved ones, or becoming involved in unhealthy relationships. While they may offer temporary relief, they ultimately disconnect us from ourselves and others, often resulting in feelings of loneliness, shame, anxiety, and depression. I’m passionate about helping people strengthen their self-worth and process traumatic experiences that create harmful patterns and a sense of insecurity. I believe that although wounding often happens in relationships, healing also occurs through connection. With courage and a willingness to face uncomfortable truths, meaningful and lasting change is possible. Healing can happen—and there is always hope.

I’m a warm, insight-oriented therapist who offers a steady, compassionate space for adults navigating grief, relational wounds, and the impact of growing up around emotional chaos or inconsistency. My approach is grounded in deep listening and curiosity—I help clients slow down and make sense of their inner experience, uncovering patterns that may have once been protective but now feel limiting. Together, we create room for new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to your story. Healing, in my work, begins with being deeply seen and understood.

Welcome to Creative Healing! I'm Jen Mele, LCSW, EYT-200—owner and group therapist here. You've taken a meaningful step by seeking support, and that alone is a powerful act of care for yourself and your relationships. At Creative Healing, we work with individuals, families, and couples navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, intense emotions, impulsivity, self-criticism, and more. Our practice is holistic, honoring the mind-body connection and the inherent capacity for healing, growth, and reconnection. We are passionate about helping people build emotional awareness, self-trust, and more compassionate relationships—with themselves and with others. Many of the individuals, families, and couples we support are struggling with common but painful dynamics: difficulty managing emotional intensity, trouble setting and respecting boundaries, and the challenge of truly listening to and understanding one another without judgment. These patterns can create disconnection, resentment, and hurt—but they are also deeply workable with the right tools and support. We specialize in evidence-based treatment like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices and mindfulness because we’ve seen how powerfully they support emotional regulation, self-understanding, and both individual and relational healing. These approaches aren’t just supportive—they’re scientifically validated. At Creative Healing, we integrate these proven methods to help you create meaningful, lasting change—from the inside out and in connection with those who matter most.

You Deserve Healing You may have lived through experiences that changed everything—leaving you to question your safety, your worth, and even who you are. I want you to know this: you are not broken. What happened to you is not your fault. And you don’t have to carry it alone anymore. I am a trauma-trained therapist specializing in deep, complex trauma healing. Many of my clients are survivors of abuse, neglect, manipulation, or abandonment—people who grew up in homes where safety wasn’t guaranteed, where love came with conditions, or where siblings were pitted against each other. Others have experienced tragedy, sudden loss, or carry memories so painful they’ve struggled to name them. I also support first responders, healthcare professionals, military personnel, and others whose roles have exposed them to trauma most people will never see. Additionally, I work with individuals impacted by generational and collective trauma, including historical violence and large-scale tragedies. Because my practice focuses specifically on trauma recovery, I may not be the best fit for every concern. I do not provide treatment for adult autism, personality disorders, anxiety-related disorders, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, or other needs outside the scope of trauma-focused care. I also don’t provide services related to gender identity exploration or transition-related care, as these areas deserve specialized support from clinicians who focus on them. My goal is always to ensure you receive the care that truly meets your needs. In our work together, I’ll walk beside you at your pace, offering compassion, safety, and care. You are not alone on this journey. Healing is possible, and I’ll be here with you—every step of the way.
