Hi, I would like to start with a personal quote I came up with working in addiction treatment for many years. "Fate is for people who fail to take action. Destiny is for people who refuse to accept their failures as fate." Me Simply put, I would be honored and privileged to be a part of your healing journey. I consider myself to be a therapist who is qualified both because of education and utilization of evidence based treatments; and the experiential learning and continued growth of my own life path. I would love to meet you exactly where you are on your current journey and help empower you to move forward. "Unity consciousness is a state of enlightenment where we pierce the mask of illusion which creates separation and fragmentation. Behind the appearance of separation is one unified field of wholeness. Here the seer and the scenery are one." Deepak Chopra

Whatever your needs, I am an experienced licensed mental health counselor who works with those struggling with relationship issues, grief, trauma, mood disorders, boundaries, anxiety, depression, daily life struggles etc. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. Hi everyone! I'm Josh. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, self-worth, and social anxiety. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfulling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!

Our life path is full of ups and downs with unexpected twists and turns. We learn to develop a way of coping whether it is a positive or negative method to help deal with stressors or adapt to change. However, the majority of the time, we fall back on what we are accustomed to when dealing with a stressful situation or unexpected change; such as becoming confused, frustrated, emotional, withdrawing, angry, combative, or ignoring the situation and hoping the situation will just magically disappear or be resolved. Sometimes we need assistance to develop positive coping skills to deal with an unexpected changes or stressful situations. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families to overcome numerous challenges. Besides treating many mental health conditions, I have specialized training in treating anxiety, career, conflict, depression, grief, self-esteem, anger management, behavior issues, stress, trauma, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorder. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution Focus Brief Therapy, and Strength-based therapy. I encourage collaboration from you when designing a treatment plan to ensure it is implemented properly and to increase the potential for a successful outcome. Thank you for considering me for your personal mental health therapist and emotions coach. The last few years have been traumatic, distressing, and challenging in ways that have caused us to adjust our traditional views of the world or revise how we will continue to survive within it. Many have chosen to grasp tightly onto their conventional beliefs in search of comfort in what they find to be familiar. We have been impacted by trauma in one way or another but not all of us have the recourse to fall back on our inner strengths and continue with our capacity to be resilient. We get trapped in feelings of hopelessness and fatigue. We need someone to guide us and bring us back out from the darkness, back into the light. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who has over 15 years of experience with counseling and 20 years of experience serving families. My treatment philosophy is to utilize psychotherapy and clinical social work theories in a strength-based model to optimize coping skills and tools needed for your well-being. This is done through our building of trust, a good rapport, and growing a secure and confidential dyad supported by feelings of empathy, respect, and validation without furthering any pity or blame, you may have experienced in the past. My practice skills and interventions are best implemented through the use of Motivational Interviewing, Life Coaching Skills, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy within a transformational change model.
