Hi there! My name is Priscilla J. Cole, and I am so excited that you have taken this step towards improving your quality of life! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida with 6 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem and confidence, & depression. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. With a client-centered and strength-based approach, I will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, you can expect us to start with brief introductions and discuss what led you here. This will help us to personalize a plan that will guide us through following sessions. In our sessions, I encourage you to think of yourself as the captain of your own ship/life, and to think of me as the compass that will help guide/steer you in your desired direction. With this client-centered approach, you are the expert in your own story and you will be empowered to lead the sessions in a way that is best suited for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my greatest strengths are that I am relatable, I am honest and warm, I am reliable, I am strength-based, I am encouraging and motivating, I have a diverse background experience, and I truly enjoy helping others in any capacity that I can. I am dedicated to helping vulnerable populations reach their greatest potential in life and dedicated to helping individuals cultivate joy along the way in this journey of life.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I am firm believer that my clients are the experts in their own story. I regularly use a client-centered approach in my practice by empowering clients to take the lead in sessions and to be the driving force in navigating challenges that they are experiencing in life. I have found that a client-centered approach reminds clients of their abilities and creates a sense of onus that they clients are the captain of their own ship; and as their Therapist, I am the compass to assist my clients with going in the desired direction along their journey.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been an effective treatment method in my practice as it has significantly helped my clients to challenge unwanted thoughts and help manage depression and anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and are influential on each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Strength-Based

This positive intervention is used in my practice to acknowledge, focus, and build on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. Through this approach, you can gain a positive outlook on yourself and will be empowered to cultivate joy along the way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize SFBT to assist clients with using a goal-oriented and solution-based approach to help clients improve their lives. There are times where I have found that my clients know what's needed or what an ideal solution would look like for their situation; however, they benefit from me using SFBT in my practice to give them the extra push, motivation, encouragement, and coaching needed to obtain their desired solution.
