Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based out of Pennsylvania and have been in the behavioral health and psychology world for over 25 years. I am a helper and a healer, and do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach to therapy, I collaborate with the client to find the best ways to work together and make the most out of the therapeutic relationship. I am open minded, creative and compassionate.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will get to know each other in your first session, reviewing why you are coming to therapy, and what you need help working on. You will meet me and decide if I am a good fit for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with a wide range of people in my 25+ years, and truly love being a therapist. I am open, direct, honest, funny, creative, and not afraid to ask hard questions, and support people through finding their answers. I have in person availability in Shillington PA on MWF, and offer telehealth only on T and TH.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with people 14+ (but will work with younger kids occasionally, mostly for sessions of Accelerated Resolution Therapy). I am very experienced with helping people feel "unstuck", and love to help people find life purpose and joy. I am very experienced with the LGBTQAI+ population and have worked with many people who are transgender. I work with a lot of single moms also, who need support and encouragement. I want to work with people who want to change and are open and ready to make that happen.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use a lot of CBT to teach clients how to reframe things cognitively and change negative thinking patterns. I have many tools I teach clients, to change maladaptive thinking to healthy thinking.

Gestalt

I am a trained Gestalt Therapist, which focuses on the present, to help increase awareness, freedom and self-direction. Gestalt is a trauma informed therapy and very here and now, and experimental. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), only 8,000 clinicians in the USA are trained, and this is a fast-acting eye movement therapy, that can help with many different issues, and goes very well with Gestalt.

Psychoeducation

I have taught 55+ university level psychology courses, so I really do a lot of psychoeducation with clients, to help them understand things clearly.
