About me

Aini brings over twenty years of dedicated mental health experience to her work with adults navigating life's complex challenges. A licensed professional counselor with deep expertise in psychosocial rehabilitation, crisis management, and risk assessment, Aini has spent her career alongside people living with chronic mental health conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and anger-related concerns, meeting each person with the steady, skilled presence they deserve. What sets Aini apart is the combination of clinical depth and genuine human warmth she brings to every session. As a single mother of a teenager, she brings firsthand understanding of the evolving dynamics between parents and children and the real weight of raising young people in a rapidly changing world. This lived experience deepens her empathy for clients, navigating family stress, generational tension, and the sometimes-invisible struggles of parenthood. Aini specializes in working with interpersonal relationships and multicultural and diverse individuals, creating a space where clients from all backgrounds feel truly seen and welcomed. Her approach is rooted in acceptance, non-judgment, and genuine care; a foundation from which she helps clients face difficult emotions, find stability, and build lasting resilience. Whether you are managing a long-standing diagnosis or navigating a new and overwhelming chapter, Aini offers the support, safety, and experience to help you move forward

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, here's what you can expect I want to get to know you, build rapport, establish a connection, and develop a supportive, warm, working relationship. We will review any signed paperwork and discuss confidentiality to ensure you feel comfortable and informed. We will explore your story, your needs, wants, and changes that you desire. By the end of our first meeting, we will understand your goals and come up with a working framework for you. It is normal for more thoughts and feelings to arise in the next sessions. We will review further to meet your needs. Feedback from a client: Aini has been a tremendous help in my life. I was going through an awful transition, and she introduced DBT and FAST to our sessions. She helped me talk through things with myself in positive ways and face the sides of myself that want me to be better, her methods still weigh on my mind when facing interpersonal conflicts. SE

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets me apart is the combination of clinical depth and genuine human warmth that I bring to every session. My years of experience, care, and genuine interest in others. I believe that everyone is unique and special and deserves my undivided attention. Feedback from a client: It's an incredible relief to have someone like Aini in my corner. After several months working with her, I've felt like I'm in good hands — and good company, as she's a pleasure to talk with. She offers multiple approaches to an issue and manages that tricky balance between listening deeply, finding conceptual connections, and suggesting concrete courses of action. I've gained lots of insight and had a couple of bona fide breakthroughs, and I look forward to more. ES

My treatment methods

Eclectic

Eclectic - Tools Specifically Tailored To You. I am a person-centered therapist, focusing on your needs and identifying them. I do this by practicing active and reflective listening and providing empathy. Depending on your needs, I could use tools like Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Therapy, or a combination to promote awareness and personal growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Life is full of conflicts, mismatches, opposites; our task is to balance them all. Together we will explore and reflect on your concerns, your needs and wants, feelings and thoughts, what you hold on to and what you let go, your responsibilities, and what you do for fun. Life is not black and white; together we seek a perspective of both/and” instead of “either/or”. You can enjoy life, work hard, and avoid extreme thinking.

Motivational Interviewing

Change can be difficult and daunting. I will walk alongside you to face the uncertainties and ambivalent feelings that you may experience so that you will have the confidence, desire, and motivation to understand the why and how you might change.
