Hello! I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio, and I have 20 years experience in providing therapy. I work with individuals ages 18 and up, as well as couples. Together with my clients, I will help achieve the best version of themselves, working to resolve life issues and challenges. I can provide in-person sessions at my office on Saturday's, and virtual sessions on Monday and Wednesday's.
In our first session together I get to know you! We will talk about what brings you to therapy, but also about who you are - things you enjoy, challenges you are having, your family and supports and education and career experience. Getting to know you beyond what brought you to therapy helps me to help you with those things you are struggling with.
My experience working with people over the past 20 years has truly helped me to develop strategies that work with people from varying backgrounds and experiences. I like to help problem solve challenges, and help my clients work towards coping with these challenges, and devising strategies to solve these challenges.
I find that I work well with those who are challenged at this time in their lives with life situations that are causing them anxiety, depression, and trouble with relationships. For young people, I specialize in working with anxiety, ADHD and autism.
Lisa Clark offers therapy covered by Buckeye Health Plan, Buckeye Health Plan (Managed Medicaid), CareSource - Medicaid, Medicaid - Buckeye Health Plan and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Ohio.
ACT is a behavioral therapy that helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or avoiding them, while also comitting to actions that allign with their values. I find this approach works for nearly all personal issues, and utilize it in my sessions. I also utilize other modalities, but tend to utilize ACT the most.
I have been trained in DBT, and use most often with people who feel challenged by their emotions and are triggered by relationship issues.
This method is used most with individuals who know they need to make changes, but just are not sure if they are ready to change, or how to go about it.
I utilize mindfulness strategies with with nearly all clients, especially those experiencing anxiety and need strategies to cope and reduce their anxiety.
The eclectic approach utilizes multiple methods of therapy, and those methods are chosen on a case by case basis, and can change in each session. Eclectic therapy works best with therapists, like me, who have been trained in multiple approaches.
