Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect their first session to be a supportive, welcoming, and judgment-free space focused on getting to know them and understanding what brings them to therapy. During the initial session, we will discuss current concerns, personal history, strengths, goals for therapy, and any challenges impacting daily life, relationships, or emotional well-being. I also provide time for clients to ask questions, share what they hope to gain from therapy, and discuss any previous counseling experiences. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s unique needs and comfort level. Together, we will begin identifying goals and exploring strategies that support healing, growth, and overall wellness. Clients can expect to leave the session with a better understanding of the therapeutic process and a plan for moving forward at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to be authentic and vulnerable. I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, empathy, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance compassion with practical guidance, helping them feel both supported and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. My therapeutic approach is integrative and individualized, meaning I tailor treatment to each client’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I incorporate evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, challenge negative thinking patterns, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change. I also focus on helping clients recognize their resilience and build sustainable strategies that support long-term emotional wellness. Whether clients are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, stress, or life transitions, I work collaboratively to help them gain clarity, confidence, balance, and healthier ways of coping and relating to themselves and others.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, trauma-related experiences, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected and are seeking support in developing healthier coping strategies, improving balance, and gaining a deeper understanding of themselves. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are motivated for growth and open to exploring patterns, thoughts, emotions, and life experiences that may be impacting their current functioning. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where clients feel safe to process experiences, build confidence, strengthen emotional wellness, and move toward meaningful personal change. I also support clients who are working toward goals such as improving relationships, managing stress and anxiety, increasing self-worth, healing from past experiences, enhancing communication, and creating healthier routines and boundaries.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and life transitions. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to increase awareness of the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing healthier coping strategies and practical tools for daily functioning. I incorporate CBT interventions such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, coping skills development, and mindfulness-based techniques to support emotional regulation and personal growth.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients explore the stories they hold about themselves and how past experiences, relationships, trauma, and societal expectations may shape their identity. I support clients in separating themselves from their problems and rewriting narratives that align more closely with their strengths, values, and goals. In practice, I create a nonjudgmental space where clients can process experiences, increase self-awareness, and build empowerment through meaning-making and personal reflection.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify strengths, build on existing resources, and develop realistic goals for change. This approach allows clients to focus on solutions rather than remaining stuck in problems. In my practice, I use techniques such as scaling questions, goal-setting, and identifying exceptions to help clients recognize progress and increase confidence in their ability to navigate challenges. I find this approach especially effective for clients seeking practical strategies and measurable growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to support clients who experience difficulties with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal relationships, and impulsive behaviors. In practice, I help clients develop skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to improve coping and overall emotional well-being. I often integrate DBT-informed strategies with other therapeutic approaches to provide individualized care that supports balance, self-awareness, and resilience.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a person-centered approach to therapy, recognizing that each client’s experiences and needs are unique. While I draw from evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, I tailor treatment to align with each client’s goals, strengths, cultural background, and personal values. I believe in creating a supportive, collaborative, and compassionate therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and encouraged throughout their healing journey.
