I am Shila, a dedicated Christian who has spent over 25 years serving in nursing, with a special heart for those who are unhoused and underserved in our local community. Much of my outreach has been through my local church, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families in need. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Master’s degree in Nursing, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. At home, I am happily married and the proud mother of three grown daughters. My family brings me great joy—especially my two grandsons and one granddaughter! I love the peace and connection that comes with living on a farm, where I find balance and renewal.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my approach is centered on truly understanding each individual I work with. I begin by conducting a thorough mental health evaluation, taking the time to listen to your personal experiences, the obstacles you’ve faced, and the strengths you possess. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, invisible, or simply longing for someone who will genuinely listen and accompany you through your struggles, please remember—you are not alone. My name is Shila, and for 25 years, I have devoted my life to caring for others, especially those who are often marginalized or underserved. Through my nursing career and community.
My greatest strengths lie in my deep empathy, extensive experience, and highly personalized approach to mental health care. For over 25 years, I have devoted my life to caring for others, especially those who are often marginalized or underserved. This work has given me a compassionate and inclusive perspective that helps the people I serve feel truly seen and valued. I take the time to listen deeply and understand each person’s unique challenges, which allows me to build trust and empower them on their journey toward wellness. My focus is not only on relieving symptoms, but on helping clients create a meaningful, sustainable path to recovery and a renewed sense of belonging—both in their community and within themselves. I strive to walk alongside those I serve with empathy and faith, creating a safe and validating environment where they feel accompanied rather than alone. I believe this supportive connection is essential to fostering successful recovery and lasting personal growth.
My ideal client wants to feel seen, valued, and empowered on their journey toward wellness. They seek a provider who listens deeply, understands their unique challenges, and walks alongside them with empathy and faith. Ultimately, they desire not just symptom relief, but a meaningful, sustainable path to recovery and a renewed sense of belonging—both in their community and within themselves.

Faith based therapy
As a nurse practitioner who practices faith-based therapy, I have found that integrating clinical expertise with patients’ spiritual beliefs leads to a truly holistic approach for those who seek a blend of medical and spiritual guidance. In my daily practice, I address not only the physical and emotional needs of my patients, but also recognize and nurture their spiritual well-being, viewing spirituality as a crucial factor in promoting healing and resilience
