With over 10 years of experience in diverse settings, I have worked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I have worked in child welfare, healthcare both in-patient and out-patient, Hospice, and private practice. I also have experience as an executive leader in a community health center. I was born and raised in Southern California but have lived in Texas for most of my adult years. My formal education includes the following: a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from National University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wiley College (HBCU). I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) with a concentration in Leadership Administration, at the University of Kentucky. My expertise includes depression/anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, chronic illness, adult ADHD, and faith-based counseling. I have taken extensive continuing education courses to enhance my knowledge.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

If you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or experiencing sadness, know that you have a supportive space to express yourself. I can assist you in navigating this difficult time and provide practical tools to manage these feelings. Together, we can address unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs and help you develop coping strategies to empower you to move forward from merely surviving to thriving. Creating a safe and non-judgmental environment is crucial in my practice. My goal is to help clients safely explore the feelings and beliefs that may be hindering their progress. I have a strong passion for those who are deeply hurting. Allow me to sit with you in the dark and help guide you to the light. I offer day, evening and weekend appointments!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I primarily utilize EMDR (eye-movement desensitization reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed therapeutic approaches, attachment theory/styles, and faith-based counseling.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I consider myself to be a Trauma Therapist first, which means I view everyone's life through the lens of trauma or activating experiences. My personality is very outgoing, compassionate and understanding. I am genuinely non-judgemental and truly have a passion to help others have more grace for themselves.
