Hello. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with 34 years of counseling experience. In 1991, I earned a Master of Social Service Administration (MSSA) Degree from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. https://case.edu/social work/ . Prior to my counseling work, I facilitated fund-raisers for non-profit charities in Cleveland, Ohio; and I was a very active volunteer in the Cleveland area. I am very proud of my affiliation with the Mandel School. It is home to 9 research and training centers, including 3 Centers of Excellence. I consider the school to be one of the best graduate social work schools in the United States. My professors were trained at Harvard, Smith, and the University of Washington. I provide holistic virtual addiction recovery counseling and virtual individual mental health counseling for adults and adolescents.
During the first session, I discuss client goals and expectations for treatment and complete the diagnostic assessment.
My biggest strengths as a therapist are adaptability, versatility, and solution-focused treatment designed to provide education and relief beginning with the first session. Each client is sent resources to utilize between sessions.
Predominantly I provide counseling for the following concerns: anxiety (with or without panic), PTSD (chronic and complex), environmental/ geopolitical/LGBTQ+/social, chronic illness/chronic pain, eating disorders, career/work/life balane, grief (education/unresolved/complex), and sleep safety/sleep disorders.
Elizabeth Reigner offers therapy covered by Buckeye Health Plan, Buckeye Health Plan (Managed Medicaid), CareSource and Medicaid - Buckeye Health Plan in Ohio.
Stress is stored at the cellular level in the body. I use self-compassion therapy, safe and sound protocol, CBT, and positive psychology to design interventions based upon presenting symptoms and the willingness of the client to learn new strategies and coping skills.
I am trained in positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), grief therapy, health and wellness, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, self-compassion psychology, somatic therapy, and trauma interventions (including Stephen Porges' Safe and Sound Protocol). I have been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety, and Phobias.
