Question: "In what way is a therapist like a pair of shoes?" (Read on for the answer) You deserve to be listened to without judgment, criticism or having to defend yourself. My role as a bilingual (English, Spanish) therapist is to be an active partner providing a non-judgmental environment focusing on your strengths and goals, thus readying you to move in the direction you desire. I provide an integrated approach in a warm, compassionate and supportive setting with creativity and humor. I enjoy delivering services to children, adolescents, and their families. I focus on a variety of issues that include behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, school-related problems, parent-child relational discord and breakdown in communication. However, my practice is not limited to these situations. Sometimes life events become overwhelming. It is good to know there is someone you can trust that gives unconditional positive regard and solution-focused interventions to ease and/or eliminate the stresses you encounter. I am here for you! Answer: "The therapist has to FIT you!"

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session I do a comprehensive evaluation, asking specific questions about your reason for seeking services. I also provide information on what you can expect from me as your therapist. I strongly feel the best opportunity for me to provide you with an example of my therapeutic approach and modality of treatment.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize a variety of research-based approaches based on the information made available to me. I consider myself a Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution Focused and Person-Centered Therapist. However, I also use a multi-modal approach to meet your individual needs. Children seem to learn by seeing and listening to therapeutic cartoon videos. I turn children's games into a learning experience to make therapy as enjoyable as possible. When deemed appropriate, I will use music or art therapy techniques to aid in the expression of emotions or thoughts.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Active and reflective listening are two of my biggest strengths. I consider myself as one who thinks outside the box when formulating interventions. I will then present the intervention to you and answer your related questions before a final decision is made to implement the intervention. I best describe this as a team approach to therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Children, adolescents, young adults and adults I see children and adolescents in the office as I feel one on one treatment is most effective in the manner.
