New to Grow
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over five years of experience supporting people through cancer, serious illness, grief, and loss. As a two-time breast cancer survivor myself, I bring both professional training and personal understanding to this work, not because I have all the answers, but because I know that no two experiences are the same. My approach is warm, grounded, and deeply human. I meet you exactly where you are, without judgment. Whether you're newly diagnosed, deep in treatment, in survivorship, or supporting someone you love through it all, you deserve a space that is entirely yours.
Our first session is really about you, there's no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly what you need. We'll spend our time getting to know each other, and I'll ask some questions to better understand what brought you here and what you're hoping for. I want you to leave that first session feeling heard and knowing that this is a safe, judgment-free space. There's no roadmap we have to follow, we move at your pace, always.
My greatest strength is my ability to sit with people in the hardest moments of their lives without flinching. I don't try to fix grief or rush healing, I believe that being truly heard is itself transformative. I bring a deep specialization in oncology and serious illness that is rare in the therapy world, combined with lived experience that allows me to connect with clients in a genuine and meaningful way. I am direct without being harsh, compassionate without being saccharine, and I have a particular gift for helping clients find solid ground when everything feels uncertain. My clients often tell me they finally feel like someone actually gets it.
I work best with adults navigating the emotional weight of a cancer diagnosis, serious illness, or significant loss. My ideal clients are those who feel like their world has been turned upside down and are looking for a space to process fear, grief, uncertainty, and the question of "what now?" I have a particular passion for working with cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers who feel like no one around them truly understands what they're going through. For caregivers especially, I recognize that the emotional labor doesn't end when treatment does, the aftermath of caregiving brings its own grief, exhaustion, identity shifts, and often a profound sense of "who am I now that this is over?" I also work with clients who are ready to move beyond surviving and start building their new normal, redefining what life looks like after diagnosis, loss, or a caregiving role that has changed or ended. I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My work is grounded in a person-centered approach, meeting clients exactly where they are with unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuine respect for their experience.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients build psychological flexibility when facing uncertainty, serious illness, or profound loss. Rather than fighting difficult emotions, clients learn to make room for them while continuing to move toward what matters most.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness techniques to help clients manage scanxiety, treatment-related stress, and anticipatory grief. Mindfulness helps clients stay grounded in the present rather than being pulled into fear about the future.
Trauma Informed Care
I recognize that a cancer diagnosis and significant loss are inherently traumatic experiences. All of my work is trauma-informed, meaning I prioritize safety, trust, and client control throughout the therapeutic process.
Narrative
I use narrative therapy to help clients reclaim their identity beyond their diagnosis or loss. Together we explore the stories clients tell about themselves and work to author new ones rooted in strength and meaning.
