About me

My name is Shannon Turner-Anderson. I am a Florida Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I hold a Master's Degree in Nursing from Alabama University in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Before relocating to Florida, I lived in Windsor, Connecticut. I am married with three daughters, ages seven, seventeen, and twenty-two. I enjoy spending time with my family, attending church on Sundays, and watching track and field and basketball. I am passionate about mental health care. I have worked in an in-patient psychiatry hospital for over eight years providing mental health care for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients with mental illnesses, disorders, and substance abuse. I also have worked in a correctional facility and a skilled nursing facility in a managerial capacity for several years. I describe my work ethic as reliable and consistent. I am committed to providing compassionate, high-quality mental health care and community-based outpatient services in the office and virtually.

We offer a faster route to feeling better; by helping you boost your mental health, well-being, and happiness, we are committed to making sure our patients feel comfortable and participative in their mental health care journey toward better health by understanding their diagnosis and medications. We aim to help individuals heal and move forward, living a quality and wholesome life.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

We focus on individual healing and self-care because healing is a process that plays a role in maintaining one's mental health. We help support your treatment and recovery journey to mental health wellness, and well-being. We achieve this by collaborating with mental health counselors/therapists to offer a comprehensive patient-centered care approach and providing comprehensive mental health education to patients and patient families. We listen to their concerns and tailor a patient-individualized treatment plan of care.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a highly qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with experience in the field. I have extensive knowledge and training in diagnosing mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse disorders, etc. My experience has allowed me to understand mental health's complexities and how to assess various conditions properly. In addition to my clinical experience, I hold a Master's degree in Nursing from a top-tier university. This education has given me the skills to diagnose mental illnesses accurately and effectively. Furthermore, I am certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, demonstrating my commitment to providing quality care to those with mental illness." Some of my greatest strengths are my communication skills and willingness to take initiative. Also, I pride myself on my excellent time management skills, ability to self-edit, and attention to detail, which I enjoy.
