Have you spent much time thinking about different ways to find contentment? I have always felt that life was intended to be filled with enjoyable, memorable moments, where we live our life with a sense of ease, filled with good health, and amazing, safe relationships. However, as a participant of life, we all know that this can be a challenge to accomplish at times! We are often stressed or anxious about meeting our goals and/or the expectations of others. We have complicated relationships with our partners, families, and friends. We want to live life a certain way but are often faced with roadblocks that prevent us from doing so. Sometimes these things are simple fixes. Sometimes they are complicated journeys that seem to take us further away from our goals and who we want to be. This has led me to a lifelong goal of finding flexible contentment. I strive to help people find ways to maintain a sense of contentment while trying to resolve challenging situations in their lives. I try to help people tap into their strengths in order to help them recognize that they may have the personal ability to turn things around and work towards meeting their goals. I look forward to working together to help you move towards living the life you want to live and accomplishing the goals you have set for yourself!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will start with basic introductions so that you have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy and also to ask me any questions about my qualifications and experience. We will then work to review the assessments that you completed prior to our session. The rest of the time will be spent with you leading the conversation in regards to letting me know how I can best support you and your goals. At the end of the session, we will spend time developing a goal (or goals) that relate to the information you have shared and we will discuss ways for this goal to be put in motion.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a clinical social worker, I feel my biggest strengths include having an open mind, being flexible with goal development, and showing consistent empathy. I feel that having an open mind as a therapist is essential. People come to talk about their stressors and challenges. They want to be welcomed by someone who is not going to judge them for the various factors that exist in their situation. This goes along with being flexible with goal development and being empathetic to what a client feels is an ideal, acceptable goal that works for them and meets their needs without unnecessary judgment or opinions. My goal is for clients to feel at ease and understood during our sessions as this will open up the lines of communication and ideally result in great outcomes!

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

In using a strengths-based treatment method, I believe that individuals can learn to recognize and utilize their own individual strengths and self-discipline to work on developing and maintaining the lifestyle changes they would like to make in their lives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In using a mindfulness-based therapy treatment method, individuals can learn how to self direct their anxious and / or unwanted thoughts by learning and utilizing effective coping skills such as focusing on the present, understanding the value of breathing for relaxation and focus, and setting goals that help them obtain contentment on a day to day basis.
