I take an integrative approach, providing a safe place for clients to express their needs. I have worked with adults, adolescents, families, and couples since 2007. I continue to educate myself as a marriage and family therapist, and I am trained in EMDR therapy. I host a podcast on how our deeper needs overlap with meaningful music that shares a story.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I strive to offer a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where we can build on existing strengths while adding to the skills and tools you already have. In this way, we can find the best pace for you to take steps that can lead to growth while building a mutual understanding. I often provide useful tools and exercises for you to use in between sessions. I enjoy helping you expand your most important resources that will strengthen your capacity to achieve the growth you desire. I find it meaningful to help clients better understand their inherent value and self-worth. I am confident in my skills in treating issues involving trauma, family conflict, grief, marital and premarital issues, parenting, peer relationships, sexually compulsive behaviors, trafficking victims, relationship issues, self-harm, and spirituality. I enjoy providing an inclusive environment for all diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With my background in marriage and family therapy, I have enjoyed helping clients since 2007. I have experienced grief and loss and understand the importance of hearing and understanding. I began to understand the importance of genuine connection in couples therapy when a friend of mine shared his experience working to strengthen his relationship with his partner. I have been trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and EMDR therapy; I also include many principles found in the Gottman Method, which works well with couples. We all battle bad habits and I work together with clients to help them work toward their goals while honoring their dreams. My professional experience includes individual, couples, and family therapy in various settings, such as school districts and university mental health clinics as well as nonprofit organizations.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

From a young age, my desire to be helpful and compassionate led to a hunger to provide the best care possible as a therapist. We all know that none of us are perfect, but we also know that we can do hard things with the help of at least one caring adult. I look forward to helping you enhance your self-awareness and strengthen your mental health. I know, many times, we can feel alone, but clients' stories and personal experiences have shown me that we are not alone in this struggle. I have noticed the positive growth of many as they move at a pace good for them that allows them to find more strength as they strengthen others as well. I continue to prepare myself to help you see what is positive for you and how your patterns of life can be managed to achieve your goals. I understand the importance of applying the wisdom you have received from others, including from your personal spirituality.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy using the clients' strengths as I encourage each client to utilize personal resources, important relationship patterns, and a mutual understanding of their perspective to support them in the growth they desire.

Couples Counseling

I include many principles found in the Gottman Method, which works well with couples. We all battle bad habits and I work together with clients to help them work toward their goals while honoring their dreams.

EMDR

I enjoy preparing each client by getting to know them and helping them with attachment based resources (important figures in their life, present and past) before supporting them with memories/situations they need to process at a pace based on a mutual understanding.
