Hello and welcome! My name is Grace. Have you been struggling with living in the moment because of your past or possible future? Wishing you could make peace with things and experience the life you were meant to live? I guide late teens and adults in navigating through the intricacies of their mind, so that they become empowered by their experiences, rather than emotionally burdened by them. I will meet you where you're at and am open to suggestions about how you prefer to process information. I mix a variety of therapeutic styles, to cater to every client, as this is a learning experience for all of us. No one knows you more than YOU. With your permission, we can get to the bottom of what's been holding you back, so that you have all the pieces to your own life's puzzle, put together in a way that honors who you're trying to (and will) become.
The first session is usually when I work with clients to gather as much information as possible, regarding their history and concerns leading them to their therapeutic journey. Though there are usually many structured questions, it is a comfortable and open environment that is not rigid and allows for clients to share at their discretion the ways in which they believe therapy may benefit them, given their presenting challenges.
Depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, identity, child and adolescent development, grief, culture, stage of life changes, and crisis.
Adults ages 18 to 65, who are open to mixing things up and learning more about themselves.
I have been incorporating this treatment modality for years and it is the most common therapeutic approach, in the field. It's a helpful and empirically-supported mechanism that allows clients to progressively make connections between their thoughts, feelings, and subsequent behaviors. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and I am open and willing to explore other treatment methods with clients, to either combine with the CBT or to substitute, altogether.
