Ashley T Young
Hi, I’m Ashley, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I provide a supportive and judgment-free space where adults can feel heard and actively involved in their care. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with a holistic, individualized focus to help you improve your mental health and overall well-being. I recognize that not every concern requires medication. When appropriate, we can explore healthy lifestyle changes, behavioral strategies, and evidence-informed supplements as part of a holistic and individualized approach to your mental well-being.
First session
During our first session, we’ll take time to discuss what brings you to care, your current concerns, medical and mental health history, medications, and treatment goals. I’ll listen carefully, answer your questions, and work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive interventions, and lifestyle recommendations. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, informed, and actively involved in your care.
Strengths
I bring authenticity , clinical expertise, and a collaborative approach to every session. I take the time to listen and understand each person beyond their symptoms, creating a safe space where you can feel comfortable, respected, and heard. My goal is to create a supportive partnership where you feel respected, a nonjudgmental space and empowered throughout your mental health journey.
Ideal clients
I work with adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances, stress, and challenges adjusting to life transitions. I also have experience working with individuals with bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and other complex psychiatric conditions. I have a special interest in supporting older adults and addressing the unique emotional, behavioral, and cognitive concerns that may arise with aging in older adult patients.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT by helping patients identify connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, recognize unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, problem-solve around stressors, and set realistic behavioral goals.
