(she/her)
Hi, welcome to The WELLthy Project. I am a double board-certified nurse practitioner with nearly 13 years of clinical experience, and I applaud you for taking the first step in prioritizing your mental health. I view mental wellness as an ongoing project that evolves as we move through different stages of life. As our circumstances, responsibilities, and identities change, so do our emotional and psychological needs. During these transitions, whether navigating adulthood, managing relationships, changing careers, becoming a parent, or experiencing loss, it can be helpful to pause and reassess what supports our well-being. Mental wellness is not static; it requires reflection and adjustment so that we can meet ourselves where we are today. My practice focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management for ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, and related conditions. When appropriate, I incorporate brief solution-focused strategies during visits to help patients develop practical coping skills between appointments. While therapeutic elements may be integrated into care, I do not provide therapy-only services, and individuals seeking ongoing psychotherapy may benefit from working with a licensed therapist alongside medication management. Medication management is a collaborative and ongoing process that involves careful evaluation, monitoring, and adjustments over time. Because of this, my practice is best suited for individuals who are ready to commit to medication management as part of their treatment plan. I understand that starting psychiatric medication is a significant decision, and I work closely with patients who are prepared to engage in this process. For this reason, I do not offer medication consultation visits. Initial appointments focus on developing a comprehensive treatment plan that supports ongoing follow-up and medication management. If you are seeking a collaborative partner to evaluate symptoms, develop an individualized treatment plan, and support your progress toward greater mental wellness, I look forward to working with you.
In our first session, I take an informal yet structured approach. My priority is to begin building a genuine connection so we can both get a sense of whether we're a good fit for working together. This time is about helping you feel comfortable, with both me and the process. This connection will start to lay the foundation for the work ahead. While we will talk about what brings you in and begin outlining some initial goals, just as importantly, I want you to feel seen, heard and safe in our space.
My greatest strengths as a mental health provider are compassion and empathy, not just as skills I've developed through years of education and practice, but as qualities shaped by my own human experience. Like many people, I've have faced challenges in my life that have made me question my self-concept and choices. I've had to do my own work to navigate mental and emotional struggles and that journey has deeply informed how I show up for others. Our human experience allows us to relate to each other and its in that shared understanding that real, transformative work begins.
My ideal client is someone who has come to recognize that they're feeling challenged, overwhelmed, disconnected or in need of redirection. There are many ways to describe this feeling depending on the individual but ultimately they are ready to engage in an honest and vulnerable exploration of thoughts, feelings and experiences that have led them to this point. My ideal client is open to doing the inner work, willing to be accountable and committed to actively participating in the process of setting both short and long term goals for growth and healing.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you to understand how you thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we will identify unhelpful thought patterns and habits, and work on practical strategies to change them. The goal is to help you feel more in control and to improve coping skills.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing allows us to have an exchange where we can focus on your goals and why they matter. Through this style of conversation, I can help you explore your reasons for change. Instead of me telling you what to do, we work together to strengthen your motivation and confidence to move forward.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution Focused Brief Therapy allows us to focus on what is already working in your life and building on your strengths, instead of spending too much time on the problem. Together, we set clear, realistic goals and focus on small steps that can make a meaningful difference quickly.
