Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade of experience in counseling and two decades of work with families. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, anger management, and various addictions. I work to create a supportive and welcoming environment where clients can unburden themselves and take actionable steps toward healing. My goal is to guide individuals toward wholeness—physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and relationally. Outside of my practice, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and camping, playing guitar, and serving in the community. My dream is to one day have my own woodworking shop. I value a balanced approach to life and encourage clients to embrace holistic wellness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where we’ll take time to get to know one another. We’ll explore what brought you to counseling and discuss your concerns, challenges, and goals for therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your personal history, relationships, and any areas in your life where you may be feeling stuck or overwhelmed. This session is an opportunity for you to share openly, at your own pace, and for us to start developing a treatment plan that aligns with your needs. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the steps ahead.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my counseling practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. With over a decade of experience, I have found CBT effective for treating anxiety, depression, and a variety of other mental health concerns. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, I guide clients through practical strategies to reframe their thinking and develop healthier responses to challenges. Whether addressing relationship issues, trauma, or personal struggles, CBT offers a structured and goal-oriented approach that empowers lasting change.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I focus on fostering open communication, trust, and emotional connection between partners. I utilize evidence-based approaches to help couples identify unhealthy patterns, resolve conflicts, and rebuild intimacy. I guide couples through practical tools and strategies that enhance understanding and promote positive interactions. Whether addressing communication breakdowns, infidelity, or other relationship challenges, my goal is to create a safe space where couples can strengthen their bond and work toward a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage intense emotions, develop mindfulness, and build healthier relationships. DBT combines cognitive techniques with emotional regulation strategies, making it especially effective for clients struggling with mood disorders, trauma, or relationship difficulties. With a focus on skills such as distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, I guide clients in applying these tools to their everyday lives. By integrating DBT into my sessions, I help clients achieve greater emotional balance and resilience, empowering them to navigate life's challenges more effectively.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help individuals and couples strengthen emotional bonds and improve their relationships. EFT focuses on identifying and understanding emotional responses that drive behavior, creating a deeper sense of connection and attachment. With years of experience, I guide clients through a process of recognizing negative patterns and fostering emotional responsiveness. By helping clients understand their emotions and the emotions of their loved ones, EFT provides a pathway to healing, reducing conflict, and building stronger, more secure relationships.

Family Therapy

In my practice, I offer family therapy to help families navigate conflicts, improve communication, and foster stronger connections. With over 20 years of experience working with families, I understand the complexities and challenges that can arise within family dynamics. I use a collaborative approach to identify unhealthy patterns, address underlying issues, and develop practical strategies for resolving conflict. By providing a safe space for open dialogue, I guide families in building healthier relationships, promoting understanding, and creating a more supportive and harmonious family environment.
