Hi! My name is Justin Do and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and I have been practicing for 7+ years. I primarily focus on utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients overcome anxiety, depression, addiction, life transition, etc., by helping clients understand their own thought patterns, that trigger these distress, challenge them, create new more functional beliefs.
In our first session, it is my personal belief, that we not only focus on the struggles that you are facing but it is absolutely important that we also create an environment where you can feel heard. One of the stressful part of going to therapy is talking about our most intimate self with someone that we don't even know. To reduce all of that, I will be creating a relax, and safe safe where you can feel as though you can open up.
I find that my greatest strength is truly getting to know and making a connection with my clients. That connection helps helps bridge a therapeutic relationship that allows the client to be more authentic, which helps facilitates identifying the root cause of the challenges they are facing.
With my background and expertise, I have an vast array of experiencing working with different ages and struggle; so I enjoy working with those from 15-50 years old. I love working with those who are experiencing transitional issues, whether it is from teens to young adult or even adults into different stages of life. These experiences trigger anxiety, depression, etc and how one deals with it impact their overall well-being.
My primary focus is on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). When we experience stress/distress, we often focus on how the situation is making us feel but we over look what is making us feel this way. Utilizing CBT, we look at the thoughts, and beliefs that shape our world views, to help modify how we see, think, or feel about a situation.
