I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I have over 20 years of experience providing bilingual, culturally responsive psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including community-based therapy, counseling centers, and within hospital & medical facilities. In my practice, I create a compassionate, non-judgmental and welcoming space to help clients navigate life's challenges, and uncover and maximize their own strengths. I received my Masters of Social Work degree from San Francisco State University and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Holy Names University.
In our first session, we will begin to get to know each other. We will identify what brought you to seek counseling services, what symptoms you may be experiencing and what are your therapy goals. We will review practice policies; I will explain how the therapy process will work and I’ll be happy to answer any questions. During our work together, my aim is to help you feel supported, to recognize your own strengths and to use these assets to change and grow.
I am a bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural therapist with many years of experience. I am exceptionally committed to taking a non-judgmental, person-centered and strength-based approach to therapy. Working together, my clients report reaching notably improved levels of stability, confidence in achieving life changes and greater self-acceptance.
Are you looking for tools to help manage the symptoms of depression or anxiety? Do you want help in dealing with big changes, grief, loss, and the unexpected turns in life? Are you an immigrant or an adult child of immigrants, who is struggling with the challenges of intergenerational conflict, identity, culture shock, or discrimination? Are you Spanish speaking? Do you identify as BIPOC, multiracial or are you navigating an interracial or cross-cultural relationship? Are you interested in exploring masculinity or the challenges of fatherhood?
I am formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have over 20 years of experience providing bilingual, culturally responsive psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including community-based therapy, counseling centers, and within hospital & medical facilities. Throughout the years I have utilized CBT to help patients become aware of the negative and often unrealistic thoughts that dampen their feelings and moods. With the use of CBT, I have been able to assist patients with restructuring and developing healthier thought patterns, learning to accept and validate their own feelings and with achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
I create a compassionate, non-judgmental and welcoming space to help clients navigate life’s challenges. Your relational patterns, embodied experiences, emotions, and sensations will show up in our work together. We will work in dialogue and relationship to raise awareness of them in non-judgmental, trauma and shame informed connection. You will feel seen and heard, encouraged and supported to be compassionate toward yourself and other people and find better health and wellness.
