New to Grow
Welcome. My name is Dr. Rezi Davis, PhD, LPCC. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of California and hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology degree. My professional practice is guided by my counseling license and the ethical standards established for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors. I have more than 20 years of experience working in the mental health field, providing services to individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and person-centered. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel respected, heard, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. I draw from evidence-based treatment approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs, strengths, and goals. My role is to support you in exploring concerns, developing coping skills, increasing insight, and working toward improved emotional well-being and personal growth. Please note that while I hold a doctoral degree and use the title "Dr.," I provide services as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and am not a physician or licensed psychologist. If you have any questions regarding my qualifications, professional background, or the counseling process, I welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by everyday stressors or navigating more complex mental health challenges, you do not have to face them alone. Thank you for taking the important step of seeking support. I am honored to accompany you on your journey toward healing, growth, and recovery. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to address your concerns and build on your strengths.
My goal during our first therapy session is to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where you feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely heard. I understand that beginning therapy can feel both hopeful and overwhelming, and I want you to know that there is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to discuss. We will move at a pace that feels right for you. During our initial meeting, we will review confidentiality, discuss your rights as a client, and explore what you hope to gain from therapy. I will answer any questions you may have about the counseling process and take time to learn about the experiences, concerns, and strengths that have shaped your journey.
My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative. I meet clients where they are and work alongside them to identify their goals, build on their strengths, and develop practical tools to navigate challenges more effectively. While I offer empathy, support, and validation, I also provide guidance and encouragement to help clients create meaningful and lasting change. My empathy is shaped not only by my professional training and more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field, but also by my own life journey. I grew up in a communist country and later immigrated to the United States in search of greater opportunities. I know firsthand what it feels like to leave behind everything familiar, adapt to a new culture, navigate uncertainty, and rebuild a sense of belonging. I still remember arriving in a new country and facing situations where I felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, and unsure of what the future would hold. There were moments when I questioned myself, struggled to find my footing, and had to rely on resilience and hope to move forward. Those experiences taught me the importance of being seen, heard, and supported during difficult times. They also deepened my appreciation for the courage it takes to ask for help and embrace change. Because of my own experiences, I understand that many people carry invisible burdens and face challenges that others may not fully see or understand. Whether a client is struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, trauma, major life transitions, cultural adjustment, or simply feeling stuck, I strive to meet them with genuine compassion, curiosity, and respect. I do not view people through the lens of their challenges; I see their strengths, resilience, and potential for growth. I draw from evidence-based practices and tailor treatment to each person's unique needs, values, and circumstances. The most rewarding part of my work is helping clients recognize their own strengths, overcome obstacles, and discover that they are capable of creating meaningful and lasting change.
My ideal client is an adult struggling with mental health challenges who is seeking support, guidance, and practical tools to improve their quality of life. Whether you are coping with depression, anxiety, severe mental illness, trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where healing and growth can occur. Together, we will identify your strengths, address barriers to success, and develop meaningful goals that support lasting recovery and personal empowerment. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for change, resilience, and hope.
Imagine talking to someone who doesn't judge you, doesn't tell you what to do, doesn't criticize you, and genuinely wants to understand your experience. Instead of giving advice or trying to "fix" you, they help you discover your own answers. That's the heart of Person-Centered Therapy.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, the way we think about situations can influence how we feel and respond to life's challenges. Through CBT, I help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore alternative perspectives, and develop healthier ways of coping.
With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have learned that strong relationships are built on trust, open communication, mutual respect, and a willingness to grow together. Relationships can be one of our greatest sources of connection and support, but they can also become strained by stress, misunderstandings, life transitions, and unresolved hurt. In couples counseling, I provide a safe, balanced, and supportive environment where both partners feel heard, respected, and understood. My role is not to take sides, but to help couples better understand one another, strengthen their emotional connection, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.
