As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Illinois. I earned a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree and a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. I have an extensive research background and have published two books on identity and resilience. In therapy, my foremost priority is your well-being. I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where you can openly express your thoughts, emotions, and concerns. I believe in the power of empathy and active listening to truly understand your unique experiences and perspectives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, clients introduce themselves, discuss the therapy process, confidentiality, and the client's rights. I focus on building trust, establishing goals, gathering relevant information, discussing expectations, and outline tentative plan for future sessions. Overall, I strive to provide a safe space where my clients feel comfortable enough to trust my skills in helping them reach their full potential.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with variety of different individuals for the last 20 years, I am able to establish strong connections with my clients, making them feel comfortable, valued, safe, and understood in my presence.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT in therapy to help clients focus on identifying and changing behaviors by changing negative thoughts, challenging and restructuring way of thinking, helping clients set up specific goals, modify their behaviors and problem solve. I have used CBT in my practice for over 20 plus years with great success.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Cultural Sensitive Therapy involves understanding and integrating a client's cultural background, values, beliefs, and experience into the therapy process. Using cultural therapy has allowed me to connect, appreciate, collaborate and understand cultural stigma's that my clients are experiencing in a non judgmental space.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Using Solution Focused Brief therapy has helped my clients identify their strengths and resources to help them achieve their desired goals. This treatment allows clients to set goals, focus on solutions, recognize priorities, and are empowered by focusing on their abilities to create change. This is a short-term treatment focusing on practical strategies clients use outside the therapy sessions.
