Nice to meet you! I'm a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP, based in Virginia. I received my master's from the University of Virginia in addition I completed a one-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of California at San Diego. I find enjoyment in helping and providing resources so that children, adolescents, and adults may reach their full potential and be able to manage the demands of daily life.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. I tend to take my time and conduct a thorough evaluation so that I may create an individually tailored approach to best address your mental health concerns and challenges.
Having worked with children, adolescents and young adults from various psychosocial and economic backgrounds for the past 3 years I have developed a keen eye for detail; enabling me to notice patterns and make observations that may be unnoticed by other professionals. This allows me to have a greater understanding of the complexities my clients are facing and lead to better mental health outcomes.
I love working with children, adolescents and young adults as they are eager to improve and are in need of therapeutic support and feedback to make this goal a reality. They often find themselves with no one to talk to and thus stuck in a pattern of feeling overwhelmed, depressed and anxious as a result of challenging life circumstances.

I use CBT to help teach clients that it is possible to have control over your thoughts, emotions and behaviors and that practical strategies can be implemented to modify behavior.
I implemental culturally sensitive therapy practices by accepting my clients core cultural beliefs, placing emphasis on culturally related strengths and supports and validation of the client's cultural experiences, both positive and negative.
