(she/her)
With over 25 years of experience as an educated and trained social worker, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals, couples, and families. As a licensed therapist for 17 years, I initially began working with children and families within the foster care and the educational system. Throughout my professional journey, I have taken pride in offering guidance and support to individuals, couples, and families, striving to empower them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. In 2013, I transitioned to private practice with the goal of providing personalized empowerment through individual, couples, and family counseling. My commitment to serving the diverse needs of adults, children, and families remains at the forefront of my practice, as I continue to advocate for their well-being and facilitate positive change in their lives.
As a therapist, I employ a comprehensive approach to therapy, addressing the diverse dimensions of each individual's well-being, including biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects. My aim is to collaborate with you, my client, in your journey towards healing from trauma, enhancing self-worth, refining communication within your relationships, and achieving your personal goals. Together, we can work towards holistic growth and positive transformation.
I believe in an interactive therapeutic approach, where I assess each individual to offer tailored support and practical feedback for navigating personal life challenges effectively. By integrating various complementary methodologies and techniques, I strive to provide a highly personalized approach that aligns with each client's unique needs. With compassion and empathy, I collaborate with individuals to help them leverage their strengths and achieve the personal growth they aspire to attain.
In my practice, I specialize in addressing a range of concerns, including family of origin and relationship dynamics, stress management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and personal development. I have a particular interest in supporting adults and young adults as they navigate past traumas and work towards overcoming challenges related to anxiety and depression. Additionally, I am certified to offer anger management treatment and provide counseling for couples, both premarital and marital, to foster healthy and fulfilling relationships.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a therapist, I see the mind is a very powerful thing. In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT the goal is a collaborative approach that focuses on the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and that it also offers tools to manage their thoughts and emotions effectively. I often use CBT, cognitive behavior therapy over counselling when the client is working towards changing repeated patterns in their lives, and when they know what it is that they would like to change.

I just had my first session with Yvette and I already know she's the one for me at this time in my life journey. She listens and she asks questions that demonstrate her connectedness to me and what I am experiencing. I can't wait for our journey together!

Every time I complete a session with Mrs. Yvette, my spirit always feels so refreshed. She is very authentic, open minded, and very motivating to me in my journey. I love that I am able to have a collaborative conversation with her. I have met with therapist and have not felt that I could truly connect, but it is different with Mrs. Yvette. It feels like GOD knew what I needed in this season and he connected me with a therapist that aligned with where I am in this season of my life.

Still so appreciate her! She is such a great active listener. She never judges. She helps think through solutions and for those things that can't be fixed, work arounds. She always reminds me never to sacrifice my mental health. Highly recommend!
