My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a great tool that most Clinicians utilize in efforts to make positive change to the mindset. It focuses on present circumstances and emotions in real time. A clinician who practices CBT will to learn about the whole person, family history and usual human interactions to get a better sense of the entire person. The emphasis is on what a person is telling themselves, your thought processes that might result in symptoms of anxiety or mood dysregulation. A person is then encouraged to address rational concerns practically, and to challenge irrational beliefs, rumination or catastrophizing.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a therapy preference of this Clinician. It is preferred to remember the positives and work to empower the client. According to psychology today, it is counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.

Christian Counseling

This Clinician believes in the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model and that spirituality is very important to most people and can help in the healing journey and growth to our best selves overall.

Strength-Based

This Clincian believes we all have strengths and should remember to tap into those strong suits we hold and work to identify them to help us cope with life's challenges. According to psychologytoday.com: The strength-based approach is centered around the idea that the client is the actor or agent of change. The approach is highly dependent on how the individual processes their thoughts and emotions. It allows for open communication, encouraging individuals to identify value and assemble their strengths and capacities.

Supportive

Supportive therapy is important to provide through some many challenges including grief, divorce, health care challenges and more. Search and you will find that psychotherapy is a type of therapy that primarily focuses on providing emotional support, encouragement, and validation during difficult life circumstances or psychological challenges. Your therapist will encourage you to talk about your feelings, concerns, and problems in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.
