New to Grow
Hi, I’m Kaytie Sebastian. I’m a compassionate and dedicated therapist who is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. I work collaboratively with individuals to identify their strengths, navigate challenges, and build practical tools for lasting change. My goal is to help you feel empowered, confident, and supported throughout your journey toward healing and growth.
In our first session together, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where we focus on getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and any goals you’d like to work toward. I may ask questions about your background, relationships, and past experiences to better understand the full picture of your life. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. Most importantly, there is no pressure—our first meeting is about building comfort, clarity, and a strong foundation for the work ahead.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance between compassion and practical strategy. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard, while also providing clear tools and structured guidance to help them make meaningful progress. I often integrate evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. Clients frequently share that they appreciate leaving sessions not only feeling understood, but also equipped with practical skills they can apply in their daily lives. My goal is lasting change—not just insight, but real growth and empowerment.
My ideal therapy client is someone who is ready for growth—even if they feel unsure or overwhelmed right now. They may be navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, or past experiences/trauma that continues to impact their daily life. They value having a supportive, nonjudgmental space to process their thoughts and emotions and are open to learning practical tools to create meaningful change. Most importantly, they are willing to show up authentically and engage in the work toward healing and personal development.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help people to understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. We then challenge unhelpful thoughts to change those feelings and behaviors.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I am certified in TF-CBT. This intervention is to process trauma in children. We work together to develop healthy coping skills and then addressing the trauma. Finally we address and unhealthy thoughts or feelings surrounding the trauma.
Strength-Based
No matter what someone has been through or done they have strengths. I like to focus on strengths of a client in order to progress in therapy
Trauma Informed Care
I have a lot of experience in trauma work. I take a trauma informed approach when working with my clients.
EMDR
My approach to EMDR is client-centered, collaborative, and paced according to each client’s readiness. I prioritize establishing safety and building coping skills before trauma processing. I integrate EMDR with other evidence-based approaches when appropriate to help clients reduce the impact of distressing experiences, strengthen adaptive beliefs, and achieve their treatment goals in a safe and supportive environment.
