Hi, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I empower participants to partner with me to reach their goals and objectives in therapy. Dealing with unresolved trauma, struggling with life transitions, trying to manage anger, stress, depression or anxiety on your own can all be overwhelming. I enjoy assisting clients with learning stress management and mindfulness techniques, as well as helping them to discover ways to cope and address mental barriers they are facing in life. Also, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist (CGCS).
In our first session together, we'll take some time to get to know each other. I'll start by introducing myself and explaining a bit about how therapy works. Then, I'll ask you some questions to understand what's been going on and what brings you here. You'll have the opportunity to share as much or as little as you're comfortable with, and I'll listen without judgment. Together, we'll discuss what you hope to achieve through therapy and set some goals to work towards. I want you to feel comfortable and supported during our time together, so please feel free to ask any questions or share any concerns you may have.
As a provider that has worked with hundreds of clients, my strengths lie in my ability to truly understand and empathize with my clients' struggles. I listen attentively and create a safe space where they feel comfortable opening up. I tailor my approach to meet their specific needs and work collaboratively with them to set goals and find solutions. I stay informed about the latest research and remain resilient in supporting my clients on their journey to healing and growth.
I am here to serve clients dealing with behavioral health challenges, such as Depression, Anxiety, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Grief and Life Transitions. My approach is empathetic and tailored to each individual's unique needs, providing a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth.
I currently integrate Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) into my practice to effectively address post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) stemming from various traumatic experiences. Through structured exercises and cognitive restructuring, I assist clients in challenging maladaptive thoughts and beliefs associated with their trauma. This approach, combined with skill-building exercises and regular monitoring of progress, has shown promising results in reducing PTSD symptoms and improving overall functioning in my clients.
In my practice, I've found Solution-Based Grief Treatment (SBGT) to be a powerful approach for helping individuals cope with loss. Instead of solely focusing on the pain of grief, SBGT emphasizes identifying and utilizing the person's strengths and resources to navigate their journey. I work closely with clients to set meaningful goals and explore how they can leverage their existing support systems and coping mechanisms. By focusing on the present and future, SBGT empowers individuals to envision a life beyond grief while honoring their emotions and experiences. It's a collaborative process tailored to each client's needs, aiming to foster resilience and meaningful growth amidst loss.
In my practice, I incorporate faith-based therapy, which integrates clients' spiritual beliefs into the counseling process. I honor and respect the religious or spiritual backgrounds of my clients, recognizing how their faith influences their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we explore how their beliefs can serve as sources of strength, guidance, and comfort during challenging times. By integrating spiritual practices, scriptures, prayers, or rituals into therapy sessions, I aim to provide a holistic approach to healing that aligns with their values and fosters a deeper sense of connection to their faith community. This approach allows clients to draw upon their spirituality as a powerful resource for navigating life's difficulties and finding meaning and purpose in their journey towards growth and healing.
In my practice, I specialize in grief therapy, which focuses on supporting individuals through the grieving process after experiencing a significant loss. I create a safe and empathetic space where clients can explore their emotions, memories, and thoughts surrounding the loss. Together, we work through the various stages of grief, acknowledging the pain while also honoring the unique journey of healing and growth. Through compassionate listening and tailored interventions, I help clients develop coping strategies, find meaning in their loss, and gradually integrate the experience into their lives. My approach to grief therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and respectful of each person's individual process of mourning and recovery.
In my therapeutic practice, I specialize in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to assist individuals in processing and overcoming traumatic experiences. TF-CBT provides a structured and evidence-based approach that addresses the complex interplay of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral responses to trauma. Through a collaborative and compassionate approach, I create a safe therapeutic environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and reactions related to the trauma. Together, we work on identifying and challenging negative beliefs and coping strategies while also teaching practical skills to manage distress and build resilience. By incorporating relaxation techniques, trauma narratives, and cognitive restructuring, I support clients in gradually processing their experiences and reclaiming a sense of control over their lives. Additionally, I involve caregivers in the therapeutic process to ensure comprehensive support for the client's healing journey. TF-CBT empowers clients to navigate the challenges of trauma, regain a sense of safety, and move forward towards healing and recovery.
