I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of CT. I have 19 years of experience in the field. I work with an 18 + population and have dedicated my career to helping those with substance use disorders lead healthier lives. I also specialize in helping those with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders develop coping skills that will better their quality of life.
The first sessions is a get to know each other moment where they get to see my style of therapy and I get to learn about them as a person not just the reason they sought therapy.
I am compassionate, non judgmental, honest, and humorous. We are all in the same boat trying to navigate this thing called life together.
I work well with clients who like direct feedback and honesty in sessions. Folks over 30 who are currently dealing with life transitions and struggling to make decisions on their next steps seem to get unstuck during our sessions together.

Together we will establish goals to work towards and I will assist you in identifying coping skills to utilize. Our therapy objective will be to move past whatever obstacle you currently face in a healthier manner to increase your quality of life.

This was just our first session together, so I did most of the talking (and the crying). But the entire time, I felt Lauren was listening to me and taking in what I had to say like it was very important. She had positive and encouraging feedback. I felt more at ease after speaking with her.
