I believe everyone deserves to feel happy, healthy, and fulfilled. That's why I offer a supportive and confidential space for individuals, couples, and families to explore their mental and emotional well-being. I consider all aspects of an individual and implement a bio-psycho-social-spiritual, culturally-sensitive and client-centered approach with individuals, couples, and families .

First session

For your first session of therapy, our focus is less about jumping into deep emotional work and more about building a foundation, establishing comfort, and mapping out a path forward together. It is completely normal to feel nervous or uncertain, but knowing what to expect can help ease that anxiety. Here is what you will experience in our very first session: • A Warm Welcome and Housekeeping: We will start with a brief review of your initial paperwork. This includes discussing confidentiality, standard policies, and addressing any logistical or scheduling questions you might have. • The "Getting to Know You" Conversation: This is your opportunity to share what brings you to therapy in your own words. I will ask open-ended questions about your current challenges, symptoms, personal history, and what you hope to get out of our time together. • An Assessment of Your Current Needs: I will work to understand your current baseline. This includes exploring how your day-to-day life, sleep, relationships, and stress levels are being impacted right now. • A Collaborative Roadmap: Before our session ends, we will align on a preliminary plan. This outlines how often we will meet, what specific areas we will focus on first, and what your overall goals for therapy will look like. • A Chance to Evaluate the Fit: This session is a two-way street. It gives you a chance to see how it feels to talk with me and ensure that my approach, personality, and style feel like a safe, supportive match for you.

Strengths

I treat each client individually and can create a safe space that is specific to the client. I am client centred and offer a humanistic approach. Each client is different and I will take the time to treat each client on their own basis. I can be direct when it is needed or the client wants that approach. I can also sit quietly and hold the space when that is needed as well.

Ideal clients

I am open to working with all ages, anxiety, depression, substance abuse and trauma. There are other areas that I work with as well. I will work with you to establish goals and address your concerns. I work best with clients that are comfortable with being open and up front with what they need in therapy and from the therapist.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is described as a practical, short-term team effort that connects how your thoughts, feelings, and actions affect each other.

EMDR

EMDR is a structured therapy that helps the brain unblock and reprocess painful or stuck memories using back-and-forth eye movements or tapping.
