There are so many ideas that you’ve probably lived with growing up that don’t work for you anymore. Ways of doing things that make it hard to get things done, live in "survival mode", prioritize other people, or live the same day everyday. You've been expected to just move on from some hard times or hard losses. Or maybe you’ve always been "the “Perfect One”, the “Black Sheep” or the “Silent One” in your family. The struggles & labels that you've lived with may make it hard to truly know who YOU are... But I promise you, you don't have to live life with negative thoughts, numbness, or expectation. You deserve peace and mindfulness. I’m a licensed counselor in Florida. I’m also an INFJ Afro Caribbean cis woman who had to break real & generational trauma - to be an empathic mother and to find my own authentic identity. I love to lend perspective and support to BIPoC, neurodiverse or ENM humans who feel stuck in old patterns or who have been told that counseling is only "para los locos". You should speak to a counselor who recognizes that your blood is rich with ancestry, heritage, triumphs and history. Also one that knows that you are more than just a role (i.e., parent, sibling or partner). We only have ONE life and so you deserve to make it an authentic one. Let's talk about how to live mindfully, no matter what you have survived.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, there's no pressure to do anything beyond having a heartfelt conversation with me. We'll spend time getting to know each other, and you'll have the chance to see how comfortable you feel talking with me. If you are ready for it we can collaboratively create goals for what success looks like in our work together. My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can be yourself. Additionally, I speak Dominican Spanish and am happy to offer sessions in either language.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My professional and personal experiences have taught me to address the difficulties of moving on from hard things that happen to us – past, present and future. I am especially equipped to help those feeling stressed and overwhelmed by negative thoughts throughout their days... Especially when it hasn't been okay to really talk about things with the people in our lives.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness-based techniques to help clients stay present and manage stress in a way that feels right for them. I understand that mindfulness can look different for everyone, depending on their culture, race, and gender. My goal is to find simple, everyday practices that fit each person's unique life and help them feel more at ease.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients accept their feelings and commit to actions that align with their values. I focus on creating a caring, positive space, always mindful of each person's cultural, racial, and gender background. My aim is to support everyone in living a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage intense emotions, reduce stress, and find balance. I create a supportive and understanding space, always mindful of each person's unique cultural, racial, and gender background. My goal is to help everyone feel safe, valued, and capable of overcoming their challenges.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to help clients understand and harmonize different parts of themselves, reducing stress and improving their relationships. I create a caring and supportive environment, always considering each person's unique cultural, racial, relational, and gender background. My goal is to help everyone feel balanced and confident in all aspects of their lives.

Racial trauma treatment

I help clients heal from racial and gender trauma by offering a compassionate and understanding space to explore their experiences. I deeply respect each person's unique background and always approach with kindness and care. Together, we work to rebuild a sense of belonging and confidence in all areas of life.
