PMHNP, 1 years of experience
Hello, my name is Hewan Mezgebu, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I am passionate about mental health and am honored to have the opportunity to assist others on their journey to mental wellness. I firmly believe that we are more than our diagnoses, the medications we take, and the level of support we require to maintain good health. My approach to patient care is centered on the individual, based on evidence, and focused on holistic health. My goal is to assess what isn't working, identify the practical tools you possess, determine the additional resources you may need, and develop a plan to help you live the best life possible. I look forward to working with you, your children, and your family.
During our first session, we'll take the time to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, mental health symptoms, and goals for treatment. This initial appointment is focused on understanding your unique experience so we can create a care plan that feels supportive and aligned with your needs. You’re welcome to ask questions at any time, and there’s no pressure—we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My approach is rooted in thoughtful listening, clinical expertise, and a strong belief in collaborative care. I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy, tailoring each treatment plan to reflect the whole person—not just their symptoms. I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. Clients often tell me they appreciate how I explain treatment options clearly, involve them in decision-making, and stay attuned to their goals. The result is care that feels both effective and deeply personalized.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am best positioned to support individuals who are ready to take an active role in their mental health journey, whether they're seeking clarity, stability, or meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and grounded in compassion. I work particularly well with clients who are: Struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or trauma-related symptoms Managing stress related to life transitions, work, or relationships Seeking support with emotional regulation or sleep disturbances Open to exploring both medication management and therapeutic strategies to achieve balance and improve functioning. Interested in a whole-person approach—integrating emotional, physical, and lifestyle factors into care Motivated to improve their well-being, but may feel stuck or uncertain about the next steps Whether you're exploring treatment for the first time or have previous experience with mental health care, I provide a supportive space to assess your needs and create a personalized plan that respects your goals, values, and pace.

I feel like she really listened to me and wants to help. I chose to go with Grow Therapy because I've felt judged by therapists in the past but I never once felt that way today. I am excited to work with her to get back to who I know I can be.
