New to Grow
Hi, I’m Angela, a trauma-informed therapist dedicated to creating a warm, collaborative space where you can explore what’s getting in the way of living more fully. I work with clients to gently build emotional awareness, strengthen self-trust, and make meaningful changes in their lives. My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for your pace, recognizing that healing and growth look different for everyone. Whether you're navigating a difficult transition, working through past experiences, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you in reconnecting with yourself in a way that feels safe, empowering, and sustainable.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to therapy, any goals or hopes you may have, and what’s been feeling most difficult lately. I may ask some background questions to better understand your story, but we’ll go at your pace and with your comfort in mind. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out, sometimes just naming what feels off is the first step. We’ll also talk about how I work and answer any questions you may have about the process. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and with a sense of whether we’re a good fit.
I bring a grounded, compassionate presence to therapy and specialize in trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, somatic awareness, and psychoeducation. Clients often share that they appreciate how I balance depth with practical tools and meet them where they are without judgment. My approach is collaborative, I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and my role is to help you better understand your internal world, recognize patterns that no longer serve you, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others. Over time, many clients find they are able to express their needs more clearly, set healthier boundaries, and respond to life with more clarity, self-trust, and calm.
I’m best suited to work with adults who are seeking deeper self-understanding, emotional healing, and more fulfilling relationships, with others and themselves. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. Some are navigating life transitions, depression, or the impact of trauma. Others want to better manage anxiety, people-pleasing, or high self-criticism. My clients are often thoughtful and insightful, but tired of carrying emotional burdens alone. They want a therapist who honors their lived experiences, helps connect the dots, and introduces tools when appropriate, not a one-size-fits-all approach. My role is to walk alongside you, offering curiosity, reflection, and practical guidance as you move toward the version of yourself you want to be.
In my practice, I integrate the polyvagal approach to help clients better understand and work with their nervous system. We explore how your body responds to stress, safety, and connection, and I support you in developing tools to regulate those responses. This helps create a greater sense of calm, stability, and emotional resilience over time
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility, learning how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions instead of getting stuck in them. We focus on identifying what truly matters to you, practicing acceptance of what’s outside your control, and taking steps toward a more meaningful life. ACT provides practical tools for managing anxiety, stress, and self-doubt, while helping you stay grounded in your values and move forward with intention.
I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work to help clients explore and understand the different “parts” of themselves, especially those that carry pain, fear, or self-protection. In a safe and compassionate space, we identify these parts and begin to build a relationship with them, allowing for healing, clarity, and greater self-leadership. IFS supports deep, lasting change by honoring each part’s role while helping you reconnect with your core Self.
I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment. Through simple, guided practices, we work on slowing down, noticing patterns without judgment, and creating space to respond rather than react. This approach is especially helpful for managing anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm, while building a stronger sense of calm, clarity, and self-compassion.
I regularly use psychoeducation in therapy to help clients better understand what they’re experiencing, whether it’s related to trauma, anxiety, attachment, or nervous system responses. I believe that having clear, accessible information empowers clients to make sense of their emotions and patterns, reducing shame and increasing self-awareness. By learning about how the mind and body work, clients often feel more equipped to navigate challenges and take an active role in their healing process.
