Beth Wells
Hi, I'm Beth. I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner who believes that taking care of your mental health means taking care of your whole self, mind and body. For more than 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of life’s most challenging moments, and I understand the courage it can take to reach out for support. I provide individualized, compassionate psychiatric care to adults across a wide range of ages and backgrounds. I have a particular passion for supporting new moms navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, as well as veterans finding their footing again after service. Whether we’re fine-tuning a medication plan together or simply talking through a difficult week, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. I strive to address both the emotional and physical aspects of mental health so that, together, we can work toward helping you feel steadier, more like yourself, and more hopeful about what’s ahead.
I am Beth, a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner who believes in a holistic treatment approach emphasizing the intricate connection between the mind and body.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University and my master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. I’m honored to support each person as they work toward greater wellness, resilience, and a life that feels more fulfilling.
First session
In our sessions, I aim to create a transformative experience for my clients in a warm and welcoming space where they can feel safe and free to share. This non-judgmental environment is important for their mental well-being, allowing us to have open and honest conversations. I focus on helping clients feel empowered to express their needs, so they can actively engage in their treatment. Together, we set and work towards personal goals that encourage growth and resilience. After our sessions, clients often leave with a better understanding of themselves and the confidence to take charge of their mental health journey. Moreover, clients receive essential guidance on medication management, a vital component of their treatment. We actively discuss the effectiveness of their prescribed medications, assess their impact on symptoms, and address any potential side effects. Open communication about these aspects allows for necessary adjustments to be made, which optimizes treatment outcomes. This collaborative process reinforces clients' understanding that their input is valuable and that medication management is tailored to their specific needs.
Strengths
I bring a lot of compassion into our work together, along with practical tools like mindfulness, supportive therapy, and personalized medication management. I want our sessions to feel like a safe, welcoming space where you can be honest, feel heard, and actively participate in your care. My approach is individualized and collaborative, focusing on you as a whole person—not just a diagnosis or symptoms. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling supported, empowered, and with something useful to carry into your week as you work toward greater stability, resilience, and well-being.
Ideal clients
In addition to working with Veterans and adults with serious mental illness, I also specialized in postpartum nursing for over 9 years. I find my current role as a nurse practitioner vital in having the ability to support new mothers who face mental health challenges after childbirth. My focus is treating conditions such as postpartum depression and anxiety, which many women experience during this vulnerable time.
Treatment methods
Psychoeducation
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have seen the significant benefits of combining psychoeducation and medication management in my practice. By informing patients and their families about mental health conditions, I empower them to take charge of their recovery. I emphasize essential skills like problem-solving and communication to help them manage their conditions more effectively. I also personalize medication management and maintain open communication to make necessary adjustments. This holistic approach creates a supportive environment that encourages patients to advocate for their mental health and fosters lasting change.
