Hello, I’m Tiffany, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of nursing experience and 3 years practicing as a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in medication management and have a special interest in working with young adults and working professionals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma related concerns, insomnia, life transitions and everyday stressors that can affect overall wellbeing. At the heart of my practice is to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected and supported on their journey toward mental wellness.

First session

My practice is centered on collaboration. I believe treatment works best when you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and actively participating in your mental health care. During our first visit, we will spend time getting to know one another and discuss what brings you to treatment. I will ask you questions about your current symptoms, mental health history and your goals for treatment. This approach helps me gain a better understanding of your concerns so that I can develop an individualized treatment plan.

Strengths

My approach to mental health care is shaped by both professional and personal experiences. These experiences have reinforced the importance of treating each person as a individual rather than a diagnosis. A significant influence on my approach was witnessing a family members late cancer diagnosis and the impact it had on my family. That experience strengthened my commitment to ensure my clients feel heard, valued and understood when seeking care. I recognize how important it is for clients to feel that their concerns are taken seriously and that they have a voice in their treatment.

Ideal clients

Young adults and working professionals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma related concerns, insomnia, life transitions and everyday stressors that can affect overall wellbeing. I combine medication management with supportive therapeutic techniques, psychoeducation and coping strategies that help clients move toward mental wellness. I focus on understanding the whole person not just treating symptoms. Together we will identify challenges, discuss treatment options, and create a personalized treatment plan.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together we look at unhelpful thinking patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress or other symptoms. I help clients challenge negative thoughts and develop healthier ways of thinking and practice coping skills that can improve mood and functioning.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help clients explore their goals, values, and any mixed feelings they may have about making changes. Rather than telling you what you should do, I work collaboratively with you to understand what is important to you and help identify your own motivations for change.

Psychoeducation

I use psychoeducation to help clients better understand their mental health conditions, symptoms treatment options, medications and coping strategies. When clients understand what they are experiencing and why certain treatments are recommended, they are often better able to make informed decisions and actively participate in their care.

Compassion-Focused

I use compassion focused techniques to help clients develop a kinder more balanced relationship with themselves. many people are much harder on themselves than others. I help clients recognize self-critical thoughts, reduce shame, and develop self-compassion while working toward their goals.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia to help clients improve sleep by addressing behaviors and thought patterns that interfere with healthy sleep. I help clients develop consistent sleep habits and improve the body's natural sleep drive. I utilize CBT-I because it's considered one of the most effective treatments for chronic insomnia.
