I utilize both traditional (CBT, TFCBT, Existential, Solution-Focused, etc.) and non-traditional (Reiki, astrology, breath work, meditation, somatic body work, etc.) methods to help you navigate this process. In our first session together I love getting to know you and your background. I want to know what brought you to counseling, what you want to work on and what your desired outcome looks like. I like to know you as a person including what you like about yourself, your hobbies and interests.
I am able to provide a safe, empathetic atmosphere that puts clients at ease and feel comfortable talking. I can identify patterns that may be holding them back and provide alternative perspectives to help them see other paths of possibility and improve their view of self. Most importantly I can make the healing journey fun and enjoyable despite the difficulties they may have faced and provide unwavering support through the tough subjects.
I love working with adults across the lifespan, 20 and up who want to work on their past trauma, discover the generational patterns and conditioning that has been holding them back. They are often questioning who they are and what direction they want to go in life. They struggle with self esteem and confidence or feeling unworthy of what they desire. Many have an understanding that changes need to be implemented but do not know where to start.
I have utilized CBT and trauma focused CBT in sessions since starting in practice. I utilize this method to help clients understand how their cognitions and behavior relate to each other, how they help or hinder them and provide exercises, methods and modalities to help create new neural pathways resulting in improved cognitions and changed behaviors.
