Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. Over the past 20 years I have loved working with children, adolescents and adults. I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. My preferred methods of treatment are CBT, TF-CBT, and PCIT as I believe they offer tools to help families and individuals quickly and effectively. Having attended Seminary for further education in Bible and Theology, I also offer Christian Counseling when desired.
My goal in the first session, is to really understand what you are going through. I want to get a clear picture of your struggle and what are your goals for therapy. I also want to collaborate on a treatment plan. I like to end the first session with an idea of how we are going to work together to reach your therapy goals.
I connect well with clients and help them feel heard and understood.
I often work with women and parents struggling with any issues related to parenting, depression, anxiety, infertility and other difficulties. Often our struggles and the struggles of our loved ones affect our relationships deeply. I enjoy helping people navigate these struggles and repair their relationships. I typically practice from a Cognitive Behavioral Lens meaning looking at how our thoughts affect how we feel and behave.

"All Healing is God's Healing". There truly is nothing new under the sun. The more I practice, the more I realize that the best principles of psychotherapy are grounded in Biblical principles. I have been practicing for 20 years, and my clients who utilize their faith and Biblical resources tend to have the best treatment outcomes. I received my education from seminary meaning that I completed all requirements for Marriage and Family Therapy from a faith based model as well as took an additional year of Bible and Theology. I was trained specifically on how to practice therapy through a Biblical lens.
Our behaviors and emotions are linked so closely with our thoughts. If we can change our thought patterns, out behaviors and emotions will follow. I practice both CBT and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused CBT). I work with children and families to replace and change negative thought patterns to live a life with better management of emotions and behaviors.
I worked with families for many years tackling difficult behavioral issues. I also utilize PCIT techniques with my own children.
I love working with families touched by trauma. I have helped many individuals and families process and release the most difficult traumas utilizing TF-CBT.
