(she/her)
I am married, a mom/stepmom of 6, and 1 heavenly stepdaughter. Marriage is challenging, and so are child-rearing, divorce, and co-parenting; I have been through it all. I am hilarious in my own mind (never mind what my family says). I am empathetic and fully understand that therapy and vulnerability are hard, but I am willing to listen, so come talk to me.
We basically feel each other out, every therapist is not a good fit. So we will talk and figure out a plan going forward.
I am a realistic person. I also know how hard therapy can be and how hard it can be to start once or again. I am patient and understanding.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, you're not alone. As a therapist, I provide a safe, supportive space where you can process your emotions. As a regular person, I stumble and struggle, and I empathize with life's difficulties. As someone who was raised in a West Indian household, I understand that sometimes mental health is not only not spoken about but does not exist. I became a therapist to help those who need support now and those who may have needed it when support did not exist.
Jennifer Boston offers therapy covered by Kaiser Permanente - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Virginia.
I like to help people connect how thoughts and feelings can affect our behaviors.
