Hello. I am Carla, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I completed my graduate degree in counseling in 2012. Before becoming fully licensed as a professional counselor, I was a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I have had the privilege of serving a variety of populations over the years. My hope is to create a safe space for emotional development and healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, I focus on establishing a genuine therapeutic relationship and familiarizing clients with the process of counseling.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients tell me that they feel like I am showing them a true version of myself even as a counselor. They say that it makes me relatable and easy to talk to.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I serve clients of all ages who might be struggling to find their place in this world or to find a sense of self-acceptance. They want to be able to enjoy life and have positive relationships again or even for the first time.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based treatment based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are related to each other. It is used to help us recognize and replace old ways of thinking with new, more helpful ways of thinking.

Integrative

Integrative therapy allows me to blend elements of different treatments approaches to meet your specific goals, values, and needs.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy provides tools to help you live in the now and cope with life's challenges in productive ways.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is typically associated with the treatment of chemical and process addictions. However, it has a wide range of uses. It helps us to recognize and overcome discrepancies between what we want in life and things we might be doing that keep us stuck.
