Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

An initial session usually lasts 50–60 minutes during which time we will focus on rapport-building, dreaded, but necessary paperwork along with collecting history to understand your current challenges and goals. During this time I can explain further and work to create a safe, comfortable environment while assessing what brought you to therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience in a variety of settings, I find it important to tailor the needs of clients based on each individual.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented talk therapy that helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By identifying and changing negative thinking patterns and unhelpful behaviors, clients can improve their emotions and reactions to situations.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, respectful conversation style designed to help you explore and resolve mixed feelings (ambivalence) about making changes in your life. Instead of telling you what to do, I will help you identify your own reasons for change and strengthen your motivation to take steps that align with your personal values.

Strength-Based

Strength-based counseling is a collaborative approach that focuses on your existing skills, resources, and resilience rather than just fixing deficits or problems. It empowers you to create change by recognizing personal strengths and positive qualities, shifting from "what is wrong" to "what is right" to build capacity for overcoming challenges
