LCPC, 20 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) as well as a Certified Alcohol and other Drug counselor. In my career I have partnered with clients with chronic mental health concerns such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder, who also many times had co-occurring disorders such as substance use, but my passion is to work with adults who are attempting to overcome trauma symptoms, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, daily life stressors, relationships, and those who are trying to identify and overcome the root causes of emotional pain and overall unhappiness. I have always had great empathy for others. I learned very early in my own life that I strongly wanted to find solutions for anything I identified as “the problem”. This desire is what lead me to the field of Psychology and counseling. Through the field of counseling, I continue my passion of problem solving by helping others identify “problems” and find solutions. My approach to therapy is one that is flexible, non-judgmental, and empathic with the understanding that therapy has to be unique to the individual . Possibilities and solutions are infinite and individualized. Understanding how we perceive the world around us as well as how our thoughts influence our lives is a key part of my approach to therapy. As I partner with clients, we work together to determine what works best for them and use those strategies to bring forth restoration of the mind, body, spirit, and overall emotional well-being.
In our first session we'll start with a brief introduction, intake/information gathering, I will answer any questions you may have, and then I would like to listen to you as you start to dive into the specific challenges you're facing and goals you would like to accomplish. We will work together to determine a plan of treatment for us to work through in follow up sessions.
Trauma work is my passion! I have over 20 years experience helping clients overcome trauma. I am dedicated to serving those who have experienced a range of traumatic experiences including those who have been incarcerated or have worked in jail/detention settings and have had repeated exposure to trauma.
I work best with clients who are trying to overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, relationships, work and or school stressors, and over all life/transitions. Working with adults who are trying to find new ways to cope and transcend experiences that once had them stuck in unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns is my passion.

Reached out because I thought I needed to deal with grief but we were able to explore other pain points occurring. Kimberly is extremely smart, open minded and provides a safe space to communicate. This is truly her calling .
CBT is used to help explore unhelpful thinking patterns that may have you stuck in behavior patterns that are not serving you.
