I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I am passionate about helping adults overcome the obstacles that keep them from living their happiest, most fulfilled lives. I specialize in helping clients struggling with life transitions, relationship difficulties, women’s issues, maternal mental health and addictions/codependency issues. I completed my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Towson University. My personal journey, coupled with my professional experience, enables me to provide the guidance and support my clients are seeking.
During the first session with my clients, I complete an initial assessment. Although assessments are typically formal, I try to make sure that my client feels heard and understood. I want them to be able to talk fully about their concerns that are bringing them into treatment. I always give the client the flexibility to share at their comfort level, because everything does not need to be discussed fully at that first session. While I am assessing my client and learning their concerns, I am working on building a rapport and providing a warm and supportive environment for the client. I always end that first session with the client identifying the goals that they want to work on in the session.
My biggest strengths are my willingness to understand my clients by listening intently to their story. I want to understand their world view and to help them to develop insight and new positive tools that will make them feel better about themselves and move forward in their lives.
I am interested in working with clients 18 and over.
I like to work with my clients on changing their negative thinking patterns that could be driving their issues with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, etc.
