Hello, I’m Maria Bennett, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care through a personalized approach. At Lifeline Word Healthcare, I support adults and adolescents experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, and life transitions. I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to participate in their mental health journey. My goal is to work collaboratively with each person to develop an individualized treatment plan that supports emotional wellness and improved quality of life.

First session

During our first session, we will take time to get to know you, understand your concerns, and discuss what brought you to seek support at this point in your life. We will review your mental health history, medical background, current symptoms, medications, lifestyle factors, and personal goals. Together, we will identify your needs and create an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, therapy recommendations, and wellness strategies. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, respected, and actively involved in your care from the very beginning.

Strengths

I bring a compassionate, patient-centered approach that focuses on understanding each person as a whole, not just their symptoms. My background as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner allows me to combine clinical expertise with empathy, active listening, and a collaborative treatment style. I take time to understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals while developing individualized care plans based on evidence-based practices. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel respected, heard, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is seeking support, open to collaboration, and motivated to make positive changes in their mental health and overall well-being. I work with individuals experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, mood changes, stress, and life transitions who are looking for compassionate, evidence-based care. The best fit is a client who is willing to actively participate in their treatment journey, communicate openly, and work together to develop strategies that support lasting improvement and personal growth.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-informed techniques into my practice by helping clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and overall well-being. Together, we explore unhelpful thought patterns, identify triggers, and develop healthier coping strategies to improve emotional regulation and daily functioning. I use CBT principles alongside medication management and supportive care to help clients build insight, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop practical tools they can apply outside of sessions.

Motivational Interviewing

I incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques into my practice by creating a collaborative, supportive environment where clients feel respected and empowered to make meaningful changes. I use open-ended questions, reflective listening, and goal-focused conversations to help clients explore their values, identify barriers, and build confidence in their ability to move toward wellness. This approach supports treatment engagement, improves medication adherence, and helps clients develop motivation for positive changes related to their mental health, lifestyle, and overall functioning.
