Hello, I am Chelsie. I enjoy working with individuals to support them in overcoming the challenges they face with anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and other general issues. I teach my clients to pay close attention to their thoughts, and to understand how their thoughts impact their emotions, and how their emotions influence their behaviors. Seeking mental health support can seem scary or strange, but it is a necessary step to heal and grow in order to reach improved overall health. I encourage you to take the final step in the effort of improving your mental health. I hope to connect with you soon!
It is important for a therapist and client to have a positive connection so that the client can truly focus on healing. My goal during the first session is to begin establishing rapport and learn what the client’s goals are for therapy. Moving forward from there, I will work collaboratively with my client so they are able to achieve their goals and overcome barriers they may face in doing so. During this process, my clients will see that I am committed to supporting them in achieving their goals and improving their mental health, but I also incorporate my down-to-earth personality into the sessions.
As the client and I discuss their goals or work through general issues, I incorporate a mixture of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to support the client.
I feel my greatest strengths include the relationship I am able to build with my clients and the assistance I provide my clients in better understanding their thinking. A positive relationship between the client and the therapist is an important component in the overall success of the client in therapy, and my contribution to this relationship is being patient and understanding with the client while also being honest and realistic. In utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, it is imperative that clients start by paying closer attention to the thoughts they have so they are able to understand how those thoughts are linked to their emotions and behaviors. I support the client in learning this strategy during the sessions so they are able to implement it in their life each day.
