Hello! I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I have worked in schools, hospitals, and private practice for the past 18 years. Throughout this time, I have worked with adolescents and adults struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and chronic medical conditions. I have also had the opportunity to work with an older population struggling to find their new identity and transition through life changes. If your hope is to feel supported in your journey, I will offer you the opportunity to feel heard and assist you in making changes in your life. I enjoy helping others to see their personal strengths and challenge clients to achieve the best version of themselves.
The first session is an opportunity for my client's and I to get to know one another. I find it helpful to learn about the challenges individuals are facing as well as things that may be serving to make situations more difficult or support individuals in the desire to progress. People find that there are many questions asked in the first session as this is helpful in allowing me to better understand you and to formulate some strategies to help my clients.
I am very open-minded and meet my clients where they are at in life without judgement. I have strategies to assist client's in seeing things in a new way or with a fresh perspective.
I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to change but who are feeling stuck. I enjoy assisting individuals who need guidance in managing symptoms related to ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, and Depression as well as supporting individuals who may be experiencing chronic medical conditions.
I feel this technique is very accessible to clients. This is has been a main source of my education, training, and interests. This allows clients to explore their thoughts and connected emotions and behaviors. Using what is learned, clients and clinician can identify thought patterns that are not serving oneself and take steps to catch and correct these thoughts.
I believe educating clients on the use of methods within therapy is highly important. Understanding why suggestions are being made and thoroguhly explaining treatments improves motivation, insight, and treatment outcomes.
Offering support to a client is a hallmark to successful therapy. The goal of supportive therapy techniques is to create a safe space where client's can feel validated, respected, and understood. Even when being challenged in thoughts or beliefs, supportiveness is of utmost importance.
