Andre McCabe
As an EAP clinician serving federal government employees over the last 10 years, I prioritize creating an environment in which a client and me work collaboratively to address specifically what they are coming to therapy for. I do my best to create a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental environment in which the client goes at the pace he is most comfortable with. It is my belief the client is always the expert in their change process.
First session
Our first session together is completely about your comfort creating the opportunity for you to share whatever you would like to about what brings you to therapy. We will take an unhurried approach to explore what brings you to therapy right now, discuss your primary goals, and unpack what hasn't worked for you in the past. Think of this initial meeting as a low-pressure conversation where we map out a collaborative plan for your growth while ensuring our therapeutic relationship feels like a compassionate, safe, and right fit for your unique journey.
Strengths
As a clinician, I bring a unique blend of deep clinical understanding, intuitive empathy, and offering concrete strategies to help bring about the change you are seeking. Previous clients have shared that my grounded, warm, and non-judgmental presence creates a safe space whether they fee truly seen, challenged to grow, and empowered to make lasting changes.
Ideal clients
I do my best work with individuals who have reached the tipping point and are ready to immerse themselves in the practice of cultivating and implementing new, concrete strategies designed to create positive change in their lives. Together, we can clarify the positive change you are seeking in therapy,, address problematic patterns which hold you back , and work on creating new habits that help bring about transformational shifts iin your life.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
No two people are alike, which is why your therapy shouldn't be either. As an eclectic therapist, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead I draw from a diverse toolkit of proven therapies - including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SBFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, and mindfulness-based practices. to tailor our sessions uniquely to you. Together, we will blend the exact tools, insights, and strategies that match your specific personality, goals, and lifestyle, helping you heal and grow on your own terns.
