Hi! I'm Adelma Reyes and I live in Florida. I have been working with adults and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, ADHD, and other significant areas of functioning. I am genuinely curios and interested in people's stories and I like to ask questions conducive to personal growth. I also like to teach you some skills so when you leave therapy you can manage your symptoms in a healthy way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we can start with a brief introduction and then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help me get a better idea as to what is going on in their lives and help me develop a plan to work through in our following sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my biggest strengths is that my clients feel safe and heard when speaking with me. I don't judge, I ask questions with curiosity and true interest. The answers will not scare me or disappoint me. I like challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I used CBT with clients to help them develop coping skills to monitor mood changes, identify core beliefs, and see the connection between situations, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also use it with clients so they can learn to evaluate decisions (Pros/cons); stress management skills, relaxation skills, time management and prioritization of tasks, etc.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I strongly believe that you are the expert and with some assistance, you can find your answers. This therapy tends to be short and geared towards a particular current problem. For that reason, we will review past successes and see how best to apply them to the issue at hand.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is a manualized treatment for trauma used with victims of sexual abuse or military combat. It has been proven to be very effective for those issues and with the individuals struggling with those traumas. This type of treatment requires commitment to weekly sessions (12-18) as well as completion of homework assignments.
