Welcome, my name is Natasha Hunt and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. I obtained my Master’s from Adelphi University in New York, where I initially started my professional journey. I enjoy helping individuals identify coping strategies that seek to reduce anxiety. I also focus on individual strengths because everyone brings something unique into the session.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is usually focused on building rapport through what may feel like a formal interview or open conversation. I will ask a few questions about your background, interests, strengths, goals, coping mechanisms and more importantly, what has brought you to therapy. We will go over policies, expectations and questions you may have for me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a diverse population of individuals ranging from ages 13 to 90, one thing I found that was key to change is Active Listening. I also believe every individual has strengths that can allow for the opportunity of change.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-reflection, motivated to make positive changes in their life, and willing to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a meaningful way.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for the past 12 years with various populations, including individuals with chronic illness, in counseling sessions, the prison system, hospitals and the general population. In my practice, I illustrate how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and dependent upon one another. Through this model, it becomes evident that changes in behavior can lead to corresponding changes in thoughts and feelings which can lead to reduction in feelings of stress and anxiousness.
