New to Grow
I’m a Latinx, first-generation graduate from Southern California with extensive training in sex therapy. My background and lived experiences shape the way I show up in the therapy space. I’m passionate about decolonizing therapy and creating a space that honors culture, identity, and the intersection of both. I strive to make therapy feel accessible, affirming, and relevant to each client’s unique experience. I also bring warmth, humor, and realness into my work.
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and talking about what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask some questions about your current situation, background, and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together, but you can share everything at your own pace. We’ll also go over my therapy style, answer any questions you have, and start identifying some goals so you leave with a sense of direction and support.
My approach is both practical and deeply reflective. I integrate approaches like CBT, psychodynamic, and narrative therapy, while also centering culture, identity, and the intersection of those experiences in the work we do together. I balance validation with gentle challenging, helping clients not only feel understood but also make meaningful changes. Clients often leave sessions with both insight and concrete tools they can actually use in their day-to-day lives.
My ideal clients are navigating life transitions or feeling stuck in patterns related to anxiety, depression, or past trauma, and are looking to better understand themselves. Many are also exploring cultural or racial identity and how different parts of their identity intersect and shape their experiences. I work with clients facing relationship challenges, including communication, boundaries, and intimacy or sexual health concerns. They’re often open to growth and want a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can feel understood while also being gently challenged.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) a lot in my work and have experience helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. I like to keep it practical and collaborative, so together we identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and find more balanced ways of thinking. I also work with clients on coping skills, behavior changes, and real-life practice so they can see progress both in and outside of sessions.
Psychodynamic
I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients understand how their past experiences and relationships may be shaping how they feel and show up today. We explore patterns, underlying emotions, and things that may be outside of immediate awareness. I also consider how the intersection of a client’s identities and lived experiences has influenced these patterns over time. My goal is to help clients connect the dots, gain insight, and make more intentional choices in their relationships and daily lives.
Narrative
I use narrative therapy to help clients explore the stories they’ve been telling about themselves and their lives. We look at how these stories were shaped not just by personal experiences, but also by culture, systems, and the intersection of different parts of their identity. Together, I work with clients to reshape those narratives into ones that feel more accurate, empowering, and aligned with who they are and who they want to be.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I approach therapy with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and awareness, with a focus on understanding the intersectionality of each client’s identities. I recognize that culture, identity, and lived experiences, as well as experiences with systemic factors, play a major role in how people navigate the world. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood, and I tailor my approach to honor their unique background, values, and intersecting identities.
